Football Club -- Part Deux

And how many of Barca games have you seen to judge Valdes? He is one of the best when it comes to one on one situations.
And teams try to kick barca out of the game. That's the reason they get down to 10 men. A few incidents like the RVP one I agree were absolutely disgraceful but trust me, there have been numerous decisions that go against Barca as well. It's just because Barca end up winning, they go unnoticed. Stop judging barca on what Mourinho and English media says.

absolutely agreed. Every team dives, simulates and gets fortunate ref decisions. Every team. But Barca goes on to win and hence everything for them gets thrown in the limelight, everything against them is forgotten....unfair, dont you think ?

Chelsea is a respected opponent, who have a legitimate chance of beating Barca fair and square this time, and if they do, we will accept it without crying.....maybe Chelsea fans should take this attitude as well ??

Messy_19 Says
On the other hand, I do agree that Barca are at fault themselves. The hounding around the ref, the simulation from Alves and Busquets need to be stopped. The refs are human and they should be allowed to judge the game without any pressure whatsoever in huge games. But statements like " ref hand over the CL to barca yet UEFA turns a blind eye to it" are totally uncalled for. The numerous fouls, on and off the ball bad tackles against Barca go unnoticed, which should be considered as well (referring to Ramos, Arbeloa, Pepe in classicos the game by far people judge Barca a lot

Conspiracy theories and crying about past wont help get old titles back....
And as stated in the above post, please look at yourselves before crying foul at Barca....they endure as much as any other team, it's just that they have won more....
agreed Barca are guilty of some foul play, just like everyone else....
so, all you anti-barca folk out there, next time you want to channel your frustration into venomous hatred for Barca, think if you're being fair and sensible in your allegations....
Few weeks back, there was a change at the top of EPL with United overtaking City.
This past weekend saw a change at the top of Serie A, with Juventus overtaking Milan.

Will we see a change at the top of La Liga? Quite possible, with just a 4 point difference between Barca and Madrid, and the game at Nou Camp still left.

Title race in La Liga is getting hot->hotter->hottest

Real Madrid vs Valencia(0-0),lead cut down to just 4 points
Looks like El Clasico will pretty much decide the title here

yes, Madrid 0-0 Valencia  , gap down to 4 points

Like they say on Goal.com, there's no more margin for error left for Real Madrid....Barca are peaking right when it matters, an example of which is the 4-1 away victory at Zaragosa without the presence of Xavi and Iniesta. Messi now has 23 goals in the last 12 games, he's on fire.

Crunch time for Madrid.....they have two tough games ahead, Atletico Madrid away and Bilbao away....it's possible to drop points in both. Madrid will have to be clinical lest they lose the Liga...

and Barca, we will just keep winning and hoping that Madrid drop points

Yea Milan beaten 1-2 at the San Siro by Fiorentina !!

and Juve go top with a 2-0 away victory against Palermo...

Juve have a couple of tough games left against Lazio and Roma, but both are at home and Juve finally seem to be finding winning form after a string of draws. needless to say they must win all remaining games to get their first Scudetto since 2003....more needless to say that Milan must win all remaining games (which are fairly easy fixtures) to retain the title....

but it's awesome that Juve have gone 31 games without a loss !!! :wow:

Man United wins 2-0 against QPR:)
But,QPR got robbed of their captain due to a wrong red card and penalty given by referee.:nono:
It's high time that referral system to be introduced in football with so many referees giving wrong decisions.

Also, it will end barca's free falling football domination and red cards for teams playing against them.

Time for gunners to gun down man city and cement their position, so as to qualify for champions league next season.:)

Right Mate!

I don't know how correct I am but for me my favourite team loosing with grace is better than being granted a victory by the refs ...

With number of Incorrect decisions that we see now a days one starts to feel that its time for referrals and Technology to come in...

But as they say " Will Technology ruin the Fun element of the game ?" Debatable..but referral standards must be standardised..A sending off for some one should not be just a warning to the other.

Spare a thought for the Europa League :)

last year it was the Portugese revolution...

This year the Spaniards take centre stage...

Bilbao, Valencia and Atletico Madrid all in Europa League last 4....
a great lookout for La Liga !! testament that Spanish league football has improved it's level greatly over last year.....

Sporting CP are the 4th and they dont look good enough to get past Bilbao in the semi-final which means we're likely to see an all Spanish final for this year's Europa League.....

one will always wonder, had Lampard's goal been allowed, would the outcome of the England - Germany have been different in the 2010 world cup ??

referrals will not ruin the fun of the game in my opinion, since a fair decision made thorugh a referral would obviously be in the game's best interests....
it may take more time than the decision made by the on-pitch referee but it will give us a more fair outcome and reduce the chances of human error on the referee's part determining the outcome of big games....

i think to start with atleast goal line technology should be implemented
and then we can give referrals to every team just as in cricket

OR
just let the game go an as it is...
coz according to law of averages everything balances out
the wrong decisions ,the diving, theatrics etc happen all the time in the game and every team does it
be it barcelona,real madrid,chelsea,liverpool....etc

i think real madrid have hit a mental roadblock they cant get over the line
the only thing that can save them now is to not loose at camp nou or even win there because the have tough fixture list as compared to barca..

also in words of AVB its a slap in the face of all manutd critics who didnt gave them a chance

Spot On!!

Real Madrid must break this mental Jinx,,,with UCL semis a and La liga nearing its Finale Real are looking clue less..they are a Quality side..it would be really poor if they falter from here

For all those critics of Man U " Man Utd lead the EPL table and are 8 pts clear with only 6 games to go with what you said was the worst Man Utd team for decades "

With Tottenham dropping points against Norwich today , we have good chance to regain the fourth spot by drawing level on points with Tottenham and Newcastle . Hope that we dont mess it up again . Want it to be a comfortable win .

fulham 1-1 chelsea

Arsenal can cement 3rd spot with a good showing against wolves i think it is next ..

I might be wrong but chelsea still have to play arsenal newcastle and liverpool? Will be tough to qualify for ECL though spuds seem to have implded

tottenham enjoying a free fall....thats good coz modric will come to united since chelsea is almost out of champ league next year...
liverpool might fall behind everton,sunderland,norwich..too what a story that would be

as for mancity owner the shiekh is proposing a 20 million pund bid for sir alex ferguson......(in your dreams..lol)

Chelsea can't be counted out as yet, who know they might wallop Barca then possibly Bayern/Real 'cause of "fairplay" and win the Champions League, however, EPL is an entirely different story....they would have to play out of their skins to secure a birth for the next year's CL..

Barca 4-0 Getafe ; Sanchez, Messi, Pedro all score !!

Gap down to 1 point before the Madrid derby....

Pressure piling on Los Blancos

And, the Messi goal counter moves to 61, just 6 away from the all time record for number of goals in a single season.

Next up for Barcelona is their trip to Levante, which will be a tough game.

KTBFFH stands for Keep The Blue Flag Flying High .

half time Dortmund 0-0 Bayern Munich

Dortmund missed killer chance as Lewandowski's header rebounds off the post.... Bayern survive first half....

Update :

Penalty missed by Arjen Robben !! along with a few missed shots !!
tonight Arjen Robben has cost Bayern Munich the Bundesliga title

Dortmund 1-0 Bayern Munich :banghead:

kick Robben off the squad !!!

I have always been a Bayern Munich faithful (along with Barca) but if they play in the UCL semis as they did tonight with Dortmund, especially Robben.....then Madrid will tear them apart.......

Jupp Henkeys should really reprimand his boys for tonight, woeful loss to Dortmund....

Yesss!United lose!Now no chance of beating Chelsea's 95 points in season record 😃 😃
