Football Club -- Part Deux

In my opinion, united, city will most probably be at 1 and 2 come the end of the season..also there is a very good chance seeing their form and squad depth that spurs will hold onto third.

That makes an interesting race for 4th. Three of the "BIG FOUR" fighting for the 4th UCL spot ...somewhat ironical.

Agree with u bro... spurs midfield is really up there with the best.... playing some brilliant football at the moment, but its a long season and injuries will take their toll.... it remains to be seen how will they manage that...

take Man utd both vidic and fletcher out for the season.... missing these players will hurt any team and liverpool... missing gerrad and lucas, 2 of their best players... and chelsea missing essien... spurs and city have been lucky in that sense

No Basis for this post... 😞 :-(

yaah but its the truth
'Bought'.... dont talk like that man... some city fans have 'spawned' in recent weeks.... people who have complete disregard for history and culture which Man utd, chelsea, liverpool and arsenal have in abundance... and their recent short success has disillusioned these so called merceneries:biggrin:... so they will 'groan' you and vent their frustation on you....

ohh yeah...history means only winning trophies, right?
and only city "bought" their players right?
Like man utd. never buys 30 million flops(berba, veron) or 25 million successes(rooney), or ferdinand (30 million) for that matter.(there are many examples of big money signings of Utd., in the past, which don't look so big now obviously, but they were BIG back then)
Like arsenal never bought players before their cash crunch (the backbone of the entire Invincible squad was "bought", albeit at a "not-so-high" price, credit to wenger)
Abundant history of chelsea? what history?acc. to ur logic they have no history whatsoever (one league in 1954, an FA Cup in 1970, an UEFA Cup winners cup in 1970-71, before a few FA cups in the 1990s).

Just don't blast man city because they pose a strong threat to your beloved club...every club has to start from somewhere.Heck, the entire history of Real Madrid has been written by "mercenaries"; that hasn't stopped them from being the club with the "richest history".
It's just that people are not comfortable with changes.

Funny to see now that even Chelsea is being mentioned along with the "clubs with history", while this same club was branded as a "club for mercenaries" when the Roman era started.
Where were you, then?

P.S.: Coming from a Chelsea fan.

and yeah, City fans will "spawn" in a few years if they win the league and continue to play well. It's the same way man utd. fans have spawned.I am sure almost nobody starts supporting a "foreign" club after checking their "history" in Wikipedia.

a big sorry to include chelsea in the post.... i was referring to their recent success... 3 league titles in 7 years was what i was referring to.... didn't know a chelsea fan could be so bitter.... it is because of people like you that everyone accuse each other of bitterness ... why dont you just throw of that shoddy mask of yours and come clean about your affiliations to city:sneaky:
talking about chelsea.... it seems i know more about chelsea than you brother.... chelsea's success were on the backbone of players like zola, lampard, and JT who were already at the club..... they had the platform to launch( albeit roman quickened the pace) but 23 out of 25 players from city are bought(joe hart and richards) being the exception.... that was what i was referring to...

p.s..... i have been supporting man utd for the last 10 years and no matter what will be a red for life.....yess they also had barren spells where they didn't win anything for 3 years... i didn't jump ship then...:nono:....

really...that's what you could infer from my entire post?
no wonder almost all the oldies have left this thread entirely....

and all you know about chelsea are zola, lampard and jt?
ya sure...be happy to believe you know better than me about chelsea....

dude u say the spending manutd has done over the years is comparable to clubs like chelsea and city.....
dude come over it.....
since the sheikhs arrival at city they have spent close to 1billion$ no club has done it nt even ur chelsea.yes they r second fr sure.u say berbatov is a flop well i tthough torres was a flop........
the part regarding the history of a club... a club has made history only with trophies if u say real madrid is the richest home of football tats bcoz they have done wt others havent......
i dnt think players nd fans of top6-7 clubs in england expect them to play just fr playng sake they need glory too...everyone desires it

a small clarification regarding utd's spending wch does nt matter much but
u c all the big clubs in england have their rivalry against manutd be it chelsea, liverpool arsenal or city or fr that matter leeds, newcastle nd blackburn in the past.they all have been competing against one team manutd fr glory
in such fierce competition utd have managed to deliver like no other cub in the history of football.even if they spent 1-2% of what city has done wts that bad in it!!!!!
english football is far more competitve than spanish.the two cant b compared.
utd has also shown players like giggs, scholes, beckham, neville in the past

but the dynamics of football as changed due to clubs like real madrid city nd chelsea spending big
so u have to stay competitive..
hope financial fair play comes fast

MANUTD till i die

Sheikh has spent a lot . Undoubtedly , a lot more than other clubs in Premier League . But now he owns the club . He has all the rights to make sure that they do well . Obviously he couldnt have expected to win the league with the set of players City had . Someone has to start it !!

I agree United has a great history . But as someone already said someone has to start it !! I really dont want City to win and do so well as it increases competition in the league which is already so intense !! But that doesnt mean we keep criticizing the club if they are spending money !! Try to accept the fact that we have a new team which playing damn good football . We can blame that all their players moved for the big money . But that doesnt change anything . Does it !! They are brilliant players , few of whom i admire : Silva , Hart , Aguero !!

And its not only in England , same is the case in other places like Anzhi FC in Russia . They bought players like Etoo , Roberto Carlos. Same with Malaga !! So its a start for few of these clubs !! Some of them might make it real big in coming years !!

All other clubs should do is expect more competition and improve their game to be right their on the top !!

KTBFFH :):)

Okay you are a United fan, richest history in England, so many trophies and all. Be proud of it but why to post GGMU every time. And no one said that you won't be United when you die :D.

United is always right up there when it comes to winning trophies. Aren't they the safest team to be a fan of ? ;)

My rerquest is that try to avoid posting unless you are adding some values. Like your last post could be edited in to the penultimate post.

I agree to last point of first_timer's last point. I would be more bold to say that thousands of miles away from the league we can only be "Wannabes" irrespective of how many books or articles we read on our beloved team. That will no longer match the emotion Kolkata people have for East Bengal or Mohan Bagan

Cheers ! ;)

nt necessarythat wt u feel as "wannabies" aare actually so
ur nt an astrologer or smth predicting for others
u might love mohan bagan but i dnt if theres no football club in my part of the world then shouldn i follow it or what!!!
u might love the emotion of the game i like the quality of it as well
yaah i support manutd i dnt care whats safe to support or nt.......
i dnt think millions of fan worldwide are wannabies
u might be

there might be other clubs in bengal other than mohan bagan or east bengal
well they r the safest bet arent they

I wonder when ll this blame game end Lets stop the debate and get ready for the boxing day fixtures !! Thunder down Under also from tomorrow . A treat for all the sports fan . All the best guys

great times!!!!!!!!!

I think united will do what hey do best , leave the best for the last .

Take it for from me folks , especially man utd. fans , we will somehow pull it off in the end , thats what we are known for .
We start our real challenge in the second half after Christmas
Just got to know fergie is not spending anything in the january transfer window, a good centre back and a good defensive midfielder to shield the defense would do a lot good to our title prospects.

yeh and you seem to be getting it all correct buddy
Man Utd 5-0 wigan.... although it was not a red card... 10 goals in the last 2 games... goal diff down to 5... UTD are gunning baby

west brom 0-0 man city
liverpool 1-1 blackburn...
chelsea 1-1 fulham... home points dropped again !!!

Every keeper who plays against liverpool turns world class.
Again points dropped 😞

ohh yeah...history means only winning trophies, right?

You say Berba is a flop when Dimitar Berbatov now has just 1 less league goal than Luis Suarez in 10-11, despite playing just 255 minutes to the Uruguayan's 1,454. He was last season's joint top scorer. Don't know how you define a flop. Maybe Torres can help you.

my friend had posted "Haha liverpool! Cant win even with Suarez!!!"

I had to check when did he exactly post it

Dibya Dreams Says
Yess... shivam although i am Man utd fan i agree with you... its just about consistency....

Exactly! It's not about which club I support...there are things and you can see them. In the words of Rafa Benitez "these are FAHCTS" (if you remember his *had a go at Fergie* press conference)

10 man wolves scupper Arsenal's chance of getting 3 points at home.

Swansea and QPR cancel each other out with a 1-1 draw.

The Super Fast Wales Express strikes twice to down the Canaries.

Man I really am flabbergasted with performance of goalkeepers this season......... Where were these goalkeepers in the previous season's???? They are running a 1 MAN SHOW to keep their team in the game.... Goalkeepers have certainly raised their bars and are getting themselves counted....
I BOW DOWN TO THESE SUPERHUMAN GOALKEEPERS.!!!!!!!!!
RESPECT........

But the Refereeing this season has been horrendous, an Apocalypse waiting to happen....!!!!!!!!!!!
These Referees s**k at their jobs so bad, that my 5 year old cousin could do a better job..............
The irony is that the referees which The FA is pushing for are screwing up with the game big time.
Its time The FA started penalising the referees, maybe even introduce RELEGATION for referees. Also the referees of the lower divisions of English football are doing a good job so it would only be fair to them.

7 Draws in Gameweek after Christmas, wonder whether it has created some sort of a new record. (6 1-1's & 1 0-0).

P.S.: Read somewhere: Recent history shows that the Christmas table toppers have gone on to win the league in five of the last seven seasons!!!!
And the way the things stand it is looking grim.....

P.P.S.: People the CLIMAX has almost reached its interval, be prepared for the second half of the EPL where good, bad, crazy, awesome, weird and everything that the mind cannot imagine happens.

EPL: Where EVERYTHING happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!
