As per the latest news...There is a rift between Harry Redknap & the owner Levy... Levy pressing in for Luka's release and Harry stopping it.. 22 mill. rejected ...27 rejected..CHELSEA might get him @ d end of transfer window
I guess its the other way round... Levy wants Modric to stay and Harry would let him go provided that he can use the money to reinforce his squad...
I am not sure if Chelsea are gonna bid for Modric again.... Seems they are now targetting Mata or Nasri... personally I would love to see Nasri play for Chelsea .... Also AVB was quoted as saying that Drogs and Anelka are likely to remain and sign new contracts... guess its high time we offload Kalou

AVB is nt gng to bid for Modric i guess according to SkySprtz and in case dey r bidding for Modric kalou may be used as exchange + some pounds for Modric........
Summer starts and Utd enquire abt him and Levy rebuffs us saying he is not for sale at all.. Harry says if theres any development they will be kept updated.. United start showing concrete interest in other players then
Chelsea show concrete interest and since Modric wnt have to leave London and get CL games he makes his comments 22 M bid- derogatory as said by Redknapp 27 M bid- again rejected
Nw Harry mite be willing to sell him but AVB is not behind the transfer its Roman..!! But Roman is only willing to pay up to a certain level.. cash+ player exchange(Striker) as Spurs need fire upfront..!!
Kalou..?? nt happening mates.. Spurs wnt be able to pay his current wages..!! even Adebayor loan deal is being structured in a manner where some part of his salary is paid by City..!!
30-35 M required to get him and if Utd enter race Berbatov will at some point may bcme a part of the deal..!!
Rem he is SAF's favt player he rates him very highly and he was his player of the season..!!
P.S. 50 % chance he stays at spurs, 40 % chance he goes to Chelsea , 10 % chance he goes to Utd..!!

Yeah....Totally agree with the P.S Stuff Hope he comes to Stamford Bridge !
The emergence of young Tom Cleverley in the first two games of the season and Anderon's new role as a midfield anchor has given me great optimism about United's midfield this season. Add to it, Darren Fletcher will be back after his virus.
Also, with Chicharito or Welbeck playing with Rooney, he'll play a deeper role giving our midfiled an added dimension in attack. I'm not so worried about replacing Scholesy after all. I would've still loved to sign Luka Modric though, more so than Wes Sneijder. In the end, it comes down to what formation Fergie wants to play and what are his goals for this season. While the young midfield might make us very competitive in the Premier League, I don't think they have what it takes to play in Europe because that requires experience.
I get a feeling that Fergie is obsessed with the Champions League after being a losing finalist twice and he will sign Sneijder to bolster our assault in Europe.

Very optimistic about United as always.
Come on you reds!!!
Mate pple here rebuked me when i used to mention Tom Cleverley..!! He has the potential and skill..!! he needs to bulk up a bit..!!
Anderson- Cleverley partnership with Fletcher coming after 60th min is gonna be the perfect way to go along with rotation with Giggs and Carrick and Flecther in the midfield..!!
1 more CM would be good but even if we dnt sign i think we will be fine..!!

I have may doubts as I think united need a midfielder with european experience and who can face the likes of barca and real.... As far as I can see these two teams will challlenge united for champions leauge and ofcourse chelsea is always dangerous... But still Cleverly emergence has given us a new dimension and probably this season being Giggs last season we badly needed someone to step up... Defensive injuries are a concern though..with Ferdinand looking like frail baby who can not survive even a match ,we lose a bit of experience though....that's why it was a masterstroke by SAF to sign Phil Jones .... I sincerely think United should buy at least one renowned midfielder to succeed in champions league..it wud be tremendously heart breaking to see them miss on champions league thrice in four seasons..

We need a central midfielder to succeed in Europe, no question. Against continental teams when Anderson and Cleverley will be starved of possession for long durations, they will tend to lose their defensive in midfield.
Cleverley is still only a good prospect, delighted with his progress but a little too early to depend on him and Ando for the entire season.

I think both AVB and Roman want him... though for different reasons... Also Chelsea were ready to pay upto 27 mil. which they seem was a fair valuation for him... Kalou entered the fray only coz Spurs were not ready to budge... and also coz of their need for quality strikers (though I do not believe Kalou is that :D)... As far as adebayor goes... I think city are paying more than 50% of his wages... and jus want to get him off the books...
Great signing by Chelsea there. Mata was sensational for Valencia last season, and also in the Euros U21 in summer. He's got some tricks, pace and can finish off the chances as well. Similar to Silva. Chelsea needed someone like him for the kind of football AVB likes to play. So, Lukaku and Mata. If Chelsea manage to get Modric as well, they'll become really strong contenders, both domestically and in Europe. Although, I feel for Valencia. Villa, Silva, Albiol and now Mata. Although they have Soldado, Canales and Banega, they'll surely miss Mata. Also, top four finish would be really tough, considering the players Atletico and Malaga have brought in.

Dont think we need both Mata and Modric.... Both are kinda similar players and doesnt make sense to have 30+ mil. players (thts what Modric should presumably cost)on the bench... Mata is definitely a good signing... just hoping he adapts quickly to the English game and if he turns out be as good as Silva then we are in for a treat
Just hoping now that Harry manages to keep hold of Modric and brings in Adebayor and L.Diarra.....
Meanwhile, Arsenal have got their bid rejected for French midfielder M'Vila and reports state that Fergie might bid for Sneijder

Yippee !! An another good thing about Mata is...he's just 23 :wow: That's an added advantage for an ageing squad like Chelsea.. Lampsy, Drogs, Malouda, Anelka, Essien, Terry, Alex, have around 2-3 years left [It can definitely be more, this acc. to my analysis] Addition of David Luiz, Lukaku, Mata,Van aanholt, Josh McEachran, Struddige look pretty good in the future
Chelsea might consider adding another Mid-Fielder or Defender at the end of the Transfer Window That'll strengthen the Bench..Some young 'future' star would do good ! As far as Modric is concerned, Chelsea might not be very interested in him now, as they have already procured Mata. Nevertheless, if they get a good Deal..anything can happen till the last minute of the transfer window[ Remember Torres saga last winter transfer ] However, Man City look damn Stronger this season...with Arsenal slipping up..n L'Pool already a mid-table team 😐 its time for the redefinition of the Big 4

I dont think Chelsea would dip into the market... they have a good balanced side now.... ofcourse anything is possible when Roman's around... but I guess buying Modric now would be a waste.... dont see him, Lamps and Mata getting enuf games to be happy.... Also fed up with Torres not scoring though you really cant blame him on his performances in the two matches.... but with Mata arriving and possibly playing behind him... I think he should be chipping in regularly with goals
Guys, where do you think would Mata fit in the Chelsea line-up or how would they line-up with their current squad now ??

Agreed! Chelsea are a formidable side now and it is expected that they should seriously challenge United/City this season (with possibly Modric joining as well).
Luka Modric still has a very decent chance of coming to chelsea and if this happens, he'll be in my starting XI anyday irrespective of who has to sit on the bench. Very few player in the EPL right now match the craft and elegance presented by Luka Modric.
As for Torres not firing, it is due...it has been due for sometime but when he does fire, it'll be nightmarish for the opposite teams. I feel he is still not settled in the Chelsea lineup and their style of play. As for the lineup.... ------------Torres--------------- Mata/Malouda -Modric - Anelka -------Lamps----Essien----------

AVB prefers to play 4-2-3-1 Formation... So, basically, Mata is trained and plays as a LCM [ Left Central Mid-Fielder]
Possible inclusion of Mata would be to partner with Lampsy as Essien is out injured for 8 months now.
I think Yuri Zhirkov was let off by Chelsea in this window, who was a back-fill for A. Cole as well as Malouda. Mata could play as a attacking left Winger as well or the center with Lampsy
This should be the proper formation according to me !! :|
