Varane has already signed for madrid. due to acquisition of jones this was going to happen coz we have smalling and evans also.
positve: jones being english player and due to strong rivalry between top 5 clubs in EPL, at later stage for him in his career he would have few options only to consider, so might as well as give his best years at utd
negative: jones fee too high than varane and though the former has pl experience ,whether he will excel at top club only remains to be seen and hence his acquisition is a bit risky

It's goal dot com. Don't read too much into it mate. And secondly, after all the "want to be back home", "being catalan", and with all fellow mates in Barca, he would never join Madrid. He would rather stay at Arsenal. But, the whole cesc saga has become boring now.
Btw, Copa America has started, and both Brazil and Argentina have struggled in their opening game. Similar problems for both of 'em, lacked the creativity in the middle of the park. Hope they perform a better show in the next games. Looking forward to Uruguay's match now. The attack force of Suarez, Forlan, Cavani could be a joy to watch!
Nasri is maybe running after money, but not Clichy. Arsenal were not too keen in extending his contract and he just chose the best option available to him. Only a few would chose liverpool over mancity these days, so i guess he did what most would do.
whether clichy and nasri's move are really based on titles and winning ... or simply money, only they know. but there is a tagline that seems to be emerging for arsenal players to exit from emirates " I am leaving arsenal for winning titles"
maybe if the same thing continues in future you could hear similar stmts from van perise and walcott.....

So, Sahin, Altintop, Varane and now Coentrao. Don't understand the signing at all. He's definitely not going to be a back-up. And Marcelo was amazing last season. Dropping him would be stupidity. Maybe, Ramos as CB? Or will he be playing on the flanks?

It's kind of a win win signing. Jonjo Shelvey I think is a part of the load deal along with Danny Wilson. so both the youngies will get ample playing time to become world class very soon.
I think Aquilani will be sold. But I sincerely hope he stays along with Raul.
I think we still need a good defender to bolster our squad. Otherwise the team lokks good to me to go all the way for silverware.;)
