Hi Guys,

Is any one trying to attempt Frm 1 and 2 together this November. Need to set goals for completing the material and revision

hey just wanted to know from where I can get the bionic videos for level 2.

Hello Friends,>>

> >

I'm a CFA Level 2 Candidate & MBA(Finance) from IBS,Hyderabad & also worked 4 months as intern with I Sec as an Equity Research Analyst .>>

> >

I'm here to seek your advice on two career opurtunities: >>

> >

Option 1: I've recently got a job for Product control - risk with one of the Bulge Bracket I-Bank. Initially job will be more of accounting(i.e they hire CA's for these roles) then it will be towards pricing of Swaps & Structured Products . I just wanna know that can this job help me to get into Risk Management Roles (i.e Market Risk) in near future ?Like i've seen lot of job openings for market risk(i.e risk management) in which they look for people with experience in Product Control. This job as per many people opinion will fetch me an oppurtinity to work outside India. Salary : (46 K PM + Annual Bonus).>>

> >

Option 2: A mid-small brokerage house in Mumbai which is offering me for the role of equity research analyst .I'm little bias for this job profile because I've already worked for this role as an intern but at the same time skeptical regarding the survival of this brokerage house itself if the economic scenario turned out to be bad. They have not disclose me compensation part but pretty sure will be muchlesser than this. According to many people research roles are dead for a while & also associating yourself with a smaller "unknown brand" names will not provide you a good career progress in near future.I still believe i can get back to option 2 after completing my CFA if i don't find option1 interesting.>>

> >

So friends kindly evaluate the the options & let me know "ASAP" which one will fetch me a better growth in future?>>

Hardly seems like a choice. Option 1 seems to be way better.
Hi Tumtum sir and All,

I am not able to select the financial profile that I want post my MBA in Finance.

My Acads are above average:-

BE from Mumbai University with distinction
18 months of work ex in a premium IT MNC in India.
Cleared CFA (AIMR) Level 1 in June 2012

Will someone please help me to understand what do credit analyst in credit rating agencies do? What all are the competencies they require?

How credit analyst (in credit rating agencies ) profile differ from equity research?

Thanks in advance.

it would be good if you google it and try to understand the differences from various sources like job profile, skills required, career path etc. , there are many similarities in conducting the work but the output is quite different

Guys, which calculator would be the best for FRM / CFA ? BA II Plus is fine or it would be better to go for Professional ?

Professional

apart from adding weight to resume, if you want to study finance then go for CFA not FRM.
Pursuing CFA will be more helpful with MBA than FRM.

Hey does anybody have any idea from where I can get FRM level 2 question bank. Laxmi guys sent me one with the Schweser material but the CD doesn't work.

If any of you have an online link or something from where I can download, please let me know.

hey, I'm a 4th yr UG studying engineering from IIT Madras and I've (along with a friend from my insti)applied for FRM Nov '12. I've started learning from the GARP material and seem to be getting a knack of things, until now at least. However I feel a formal coaching would help but there aren't many coaching classes (do they e1 call it dat still ) around... the only decent one I found are http://www.iqfindia.com/frmtrainingchennai.html Im lookin for more.
Any kinda suggestions/opinions a most welcome (other than the boring You-Shouldn't-Be-Doing-This crap)
cheers azorac

Material is enough. Study them thoroughly. I doubt that you require coaching, given your background. You hardly have 2 months - better study hard. And practice lots of questions.

@[390371:leolazer] any idea about finstructor classes in mumbai for FRM
