Completely agree... schweser is definitely not enough.. The questions at the end of each chapter in Schweser are definitely misleading 😛 I was thinking that 2 hrs is a bit too long for 50 qns (level 1). I couldn't have been more wrong.
I am just hoping for a miracle now to help me clear L1. Btw.. In Chennai around 125 candidates wrote full exam and only 35 candidates wrote L1. I guess this would have been the trend elsewhere as well. So clearing the exam might be difficult since they consider the average score of the top 5 percentile getters.
Hi,
U said that Shcewer materail was not enuf for Level 1 FRM prep...then wat all u recommend?? Pls tell us to help people like me who are new to this world of FRM...thanks

Hi, I am planning to have a career as FRM, Kindly suggest 1. If there is any institutes in India which provide certification for this. 2. Suggest me what will be the course fee and other charges. 3. From where will I get study materials. 4. What are the career scope after becoming a FRM.
It's very difficult to ensure that the individuals you hire into your organization have a recognized standard of knowledge, experience, and competency. You can certify internally, but this type of program does not have much meaning outside of your organization. That's why it's necessary to look for external certification sources. And in the case of risk management, the three certifications are highly visible, recognized, and set standards that will most likely improve your organization. Let's look at how the PRM, FRM, and ERP standards look, and then discuss how those standards might impact your organization. First, the Professional Risk Manager certification from PRMIA seems to have a high level of recognition throughout the industry. PRMIA defines its certification as the "benchmark" in global risk management. To begin with, the organization gives partial credit toward certification if you hold another designation, such as Actuarial Fellow, Actuarial Associate, or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), to name a few. This type of recognition means that the PRMIA puts its certification on the level of other well-known certifications. Because this type of reciprocal arrangement exists, you can be assured that the standard of excellence is high. The PRM certification carries recognition by universities, including the University of Toronto, Technical University of Munich, NYU, and also a group of faculty who represent the Sorbonne, the Ecole Polytechnique, and the Universite Paris Dauphine.
what is the difference between (1) FRM HANDBOOK, (2) GARP CORE READING 2009 (3) SCHWESER FRM NOTES. DO I NEED TO BUY ALL OF THEM OR ANY ONE WOULD BE SUFFICIENT? PLEASE ADVICE ON THE SAME...

1) Frm handbook is compilation of all topics on which candidate will be tested...this book is written by Philip Jorion and recommended by GARP... but problem with handbook is topics are not divided as per level 1 and 2...but has good practice problems..
2) Core readings are chapters or articles of various authors and their books on which syllabus of FRM is based...Ex- for derivatives u must refer book by John C hull whereas for quant u must refer book by Gujarathi... This is also recommended by GARP..
3) Schweser notes are similar to digest dat we read during school days..it is compilation of all topics in systematic way...but it is not exhaustive frm knowledge point of view...(even qstions are very limited and not of FRM exam standard..)

Its quite subjective question....From exam point of view not evrything is important..
I gave my L1 dis november...and to be frank i did not read core or jorian... but along wid schweser notes i regularly practiced qstions given in schweser pro cd...and for options i read JOHN C HULL...dats it..
