Hi,
Does the Laxmi Courier Guy also sell the Bionic Turtle material ?
Schweser for FRM is okay, you have to read the core material along side to
get the most out of it !

Hi guys... I am planning to take FRM exam.. got to know that it involves too much study of maths.. is it true ? Since maths is my bugbear I ll think twice before appearing for it.. Or quant is just a small part of entire curriculum..

And ya how much time would be sufficient for its preparation.. (in months)

hi manish..yes u guessed it right...FRM involves a lot of maths....:|
in my opinion and infact i read it somewhere,it is difficult than any CFA level individually....quant is a major part of the entire curriculum..

Hi Guys i am in final year BBM finance. How will FRM help me get a good job? (Perhaps after Recession). Any job hunting tips from qualified members.i.e how to use the networking oppurtunities? Thanks

thanx...........

Firstly, its NOT TANTUM...its TUMTUM.

Secondly, considering your profile, I would advise you to first begin applying for jobs in UK and get into a risk management department of any IB or get into a risk consulting profile. Then only register for FRM since if you are not employed in a relevant field, then though it may boost your CV, there is no guarantee that you will get job into such profiles because of FRM.

Like I have said umpteen times earlier, this qualification is meant for people in RELEVANT profiles in TRADING /RISK MANAGEMENT/RISK CONSULTING.

If you fit the bill, you should register, else give it a second thought. Hope this solves your query.

Regards,

Tumtum.

You must already be working after an MBA in Finance !
Basically, a CFA will land you a job as an analyst, in a back end of an iBank. Eventually after working 2 years or so and getting the charter, you will end up in the front office. You will be making excel sheets, making you reports on the sectors you analyse.

An FRM will land you a job in a bank treasury department. Personally I dont know anyone who has an FRM charter, so can't really guide you.

You need to see where do you see yourself working in a couple of years time, then study for that exam. It needs to align with your career goals.
