Its almost October... which also means the preparations for Final Placements has begun! In fact, in many others it has already begun. I'm starting this thread, so that we can put down the details in a structured manner for others perusal.

@girishks There is very limited upside to your plan. The market scenario can change quickly, and your placements will depend on the market scenario two years hence which is not predictable with certainty.

Moreover, your attractiveness during placement also depends on your number of years of experience, and apart from "fresher IIT topper" profiles, that is a bell curve centred around 1.5 years of experience. So deferring admission by a year might not make sense if it pushes you out of the sweet spot for Indian B-school placements.

If you have a good admit, take it.
