Hi frnds....i have seen lots of negative posts about SSO job profile....Let me clarify few things....
Source- I was in Dwarka centre for Phase-3, due to technical issues we had to wait there till 5 pm. So had lots of time to talk with the present SSOs. They told us about job in detail....
1) Its thousand times better than a PO job....Infact the SSO there was ex. SBI PO.
2) Promotion is slow as compared to banks and insurance.
3) Work life Balance is good.
4) Salary is fixed through Pay commissions so no issue of downward revision.
5) Strike is by contractual and Medical staffs...no impact on the job of SSOs.
6) First transfer in most of the cases will be out of home state...especially in North, as less vacancies are there in North.
7) Promotion is stagnated presently due no recruitment since 2013.
8) Very respected job in the context that you could impact the lives of thousands of poor people.
9) Allocation of profile will be on the basis of experience and graduation e.g. People with experience may get posted as Managers/OS, same for Management/Commerce/Law graduates.
10) No criteria of 80:20, as spread by people here for managment/law graduates and others, selection will be sololy on the basis of Phase II merit. Other things will come into play only in case of tie.
So friends, here I have mentioned all the positives and negatives of the Job.....take your own call based on your conditions. Don't believe on rumors. Note: If you have any doubt that its a corporation than let me clarify that yes its a govt. corporation but than you should also know that out of all Indians working in govt. jobs around 70 % are working in either corporations or companies. Really confused. I started my preparation for SBI po,, appeared in ibps po and esic,,, appeared in phase 3 of esic. But my focus was on SBI po, because I didnt have much idea regarding this SSO job,, till someday ago, i was thinking of sbi po a better job than SSO. But after going through so many posts, got really confused,, please clarify my doubts,,, is SSO better than PO? i mean if I am selected in SSO, then should I stop preparing for PO?

This is to clarify, all the aspirants that, Cutoff 90 doesn't mean, that, only 1290 people scored above 90, many people might have scored above 150, in other words, only 1290 people scored above 18 in GA. Some might be there who have scored above 150, even without GA, given how easy was paper. So, don't predict final cutoff, based on mains cutoff of 90 marks.
