Hello puys,
i have attempted the cat first time this year(2011), with not much prep. . scored a 76%le , quant 88%le, Verbal 56%le, .

my academic credentials are 85% in 10th , 70% in twelfth, 70% aggregate in B.E.
The IIMS are my dream instituions, BLACKI in particular . .

Should i pursue the IIM dream since my application rating will be poor even
if i score a 99+%le.
Am really very confused, will i have a shot at any of these institutes if i get a 99+%le atleast. .

situation is sumwat similar 2 mine......i have 78 in 10th and 82 in 12th...and graduation is 71.......
wat can v do is js do our level best in cat-12......if v r able 2 score 98+ den dere is a fair chance of gettin call frm indore,shillong and calcutta.....as dey prefer cat scorers alot....and give less attention to academics......if u have work-ex den u do hav chance in bangalore......
and dere r sum institutes like fms,sp jain,mdi wich r in sum ranking much higher than sum iims.......so dere is no chance of losing hopes dis tym....
and u never knoe wen iims change their criterion........
for instance in cat-10 iim-k called everyone with 95%le+ widout bothering abt acads den dis tym it called every1 wid 85+ wid strong acads......
so u never know wats goin 2 happen in nxt acad year...
Geeta me bhi likha hai-
"Karam karo Phal ki apeksha nahi"......
so dude wish u gudluck........do well in ur preparation as well as in cat-12......

but before filling the form all iims should declare their cutoffs for profile too.

acc 2 me iim tag have a cutoff of around 98+ for a fresher.......now it depends on the profile of an aspirant who might be getting a call at 95 or even much lower than that.....but we all know that if u r havin a gud %le and a decent acad record,then chances of gettin call is bright...nevertheless a gud %le with so so gd pi has a brighter scope in conversion....thats y i wud like to say u that its nt in our hand 2 ask iim for their cutoff declaration...but its on us to make effort then its a game of destiny.......wat is the criterion of call nxt season is gonna a big surprise den!!!
