ET sucks bigtime! infact all B&C; publications do these days.
Business standard is much better!

Anyways, if you ask me, I would definitely vote for BS very much over ET. The news item placement, their editorials, even the way the fonts are chosen in the front page (which is the first impression in the morning when I look at the newspaper) and every other things, I would choose BS over ET.
But one thing, for the real discerning reader (I am talking about the typical business pro), any newspaper will be okay. Because if you see, almost 85% of the news items will be same in all of them. It is which one the newspapers choose to highlight more, that they differ. For a reader like me who is not from Business side but wants to know what is happening in the world of Business (in as much simple terms as possible), BS is there all the way...
You can even look at the BL (Business Line from The Hindu group) if you are from South. It is also a good upcoming newspaper... they are trying to emulate BS and ET in some of the news supplements though...
This is a creative imagination!!
Good thread, however it beats any purpose or sense.
BTW, Mods!!!, do we allow this type of comparisions on the forum
hey chill..this poll is solving my purpose..i wanted to find whether there r others also who read BS or is it only me who is finding ET difficult..
Ya, one thing i did wrong was placing this thread at wrong place..frm next time, i'll take care of that..
ET is shit! Period.
Seriously.
BS is good. the editorial is nice too. Dont get me started on ET's editorials.
If you ask me, I would rank the financial papers I have read in this order.
1. The new Hindu Business Line.
2. Business Standard
3. Financial Express
4. ET
obviously, I dont read all 4 everyday! Subscribe to the RSS feed of BS and FE. and read HBL at work.
Well guys I feel that this thread is not at the right place.
Anyways my view point is - we cant denounce ET like this coz it depends who is reading the newspaper. For a beginner, ET is quite difficult but for a business executive, ET is much more informative.
As earlier pointed out, for a discerning reader, both the papers are equally good. But, for a novie who wants to start with a business newspaper BS will b a much better choice. Otherwise too, I feel BS is better (content wise) than ET.....though a personal opinion!
Cheers
??
Business standard by any means is betta than ET, but people seem to be so synonymous with ET when it comes to your CAT business infm requirements.
As said ET cannot be denounced, but BS covers a more variety in content in a more lucid way. I believe the bottom line is information, so do go thru ur daily dose of ET and BS and get the best of both .. provided time permits
I have always rated BS above ET primarily because of the following reasons:
- ET gives more of data and tries to jazz up the content. I sincerely feel if ET lacks any good economist who can analyse something and give the macro economic view of certain happening.
- BS has good content and it gives a bit of analysis as well...
- Nevertheless, the editorial page in ET is good.
- Financial Express could be considered better than both BS and ET if one is interested in the economic analysis of some economic activity. The collumnists in Financial Express are better than both BS and ET
mr gate ....my bet is with bs...i really love its content plus extensive coverage
i think ET is better
