1. Communication networks :

a. A.S. Tanenbaum - computer networks

b. B.A. Forouzan - Data comm and networking - TMH

c. V. Ahuja - Design and analysis of computer communication - TMH

(follow any. std book is forouzan)

cellular networks can be supplemented through internet.

2. VLSI technolgy :

only - S.M. Sze - TMH

3. VLSI design :

(syllabus has only pointed out to principles and various design techniques - internet sources can be used. the books can supplement the info) :

a. Neil H.E. Weste - 2nd editions (pdfs are available...book is very costly)

b. Kang - basic knowledge + last chapter - design for testability

4. Digital Signal Processing:

a. john d proakis

b. rabinder and gold

c. salivahan

d. S. k. mishra

(any one can be used basics are all the same in these, proakis is std book - best chances for upsc using it)

any book for such topics...R.K rajput covers everything

prelims paper 1 :

1. current affairs - follow gktoday.in
daily current affairs...no need for news papers...cost benefit should be kept in mind, since upsc has mentioned max 15% from any topic

2 aptitude and reasoning - same syllabus as gate...

3. maths - saame syllabus as gate

for other topics u can purchase made easy postal course....available after 15 july.
