Doubt

can someone explain me the concept that when a negative integer is divided by a natural number, why do we get a different set of quotient and remainder, as compared to positive counterpart (arun sharma page 29). I mean, both explanations seem correct but are not consistent with what we learnt.

For eg- 32/7 = 4.57 and 32/7 = -4.57

However, acc to book, -32/7 gives quotient -5 and remainder +3 bcoz REMAINDER CANNOT BE NEGATIVE
