Last time I had got 88 in mains and yet didn't clear overallcutoff. This time got 75. Don't know what will happen.
Is pay perks and promotion policy of all psb are same or not , and if not, then there is any particular psb which provide best perks and have good policy.
So, as posted earlier in the day, here comes my views on Cutoff's:
Quick Facts:
(a) Vacancy: Total - 8822; UR - 4500
(b) IBPS Cutoff: UR & OBC - 52.5 ; SC/ST - less than 52.5
(c) SBI PO Cutoff: UR: 70+ for around 2300 candidates, of whom around 1100 got selected. OBC & Others: 60+ for around 2300 candidates of whom around 1100 got selected.
(d) Comparision of SBI & IBPS Mains Paper: Both the papers were at par with each other. Some would say Quant in IBPS was easy, but then IBPS had 200 qs in 2 hrs....Further in SBI's case there was a drop of 10 marks in cutoff for nearly same no of vacancy from previous year but in IBPS it touched 24 marks for only 2/3 of the vacancy from previous year.
Focal Points in Discussion:
(a) They have to choose top 8800 candidates from respective categories...they are not interested in calculating cut-off's.
(b) In interviews almost everyone gets average score barring few cases. So the final difference bc of interview will be for barely 1-2 marks in final cutoff of selected candidates.
Few Arguments:
(a) PG has got the best bunch of aspirants among other websites.
(b) The reason for same cutoff of UR & OBC in IBPS mains was 'low scores' of aspirants - either overall or in few sections - bcz of any of these reason the candidate can not score beyond 80 in large chunks....so there are very few people above 80.
(c) Deriving from Point (c) (in Quick Facts) my estimate says not more than 2000 aspirants from UR category have scored 70+. Bcz out of 1200 candidates left at the most 1000 candidates would have appeared for IBPS, and even after 'word of mouth' this number can not go beyond 2000 in IBPS.
(d) Those who appeared in SBI & IBPS both havent scored too heavily in IBPS (compared to SBI). In majority of the cases thers a decline.
(e) Only in virtual platform of other websites, we are seeing 70+/85+ scores,, everyone of you can check from your 'real' friends (whom u know personally), the cluster formation is around 60.
(f) We should not compare this year with LY or so for reasons we know well. However based on statistical data one thing is sure that it can not cross 40 for UR category.
(g) In OBC Category I see very few people getting 70+. So this categories cutoff will surely go below UR's cutoff by atleast 3-5 marks, if they have to fill max seats.
Derivations:
Based on these things lets come at conclusion part. Everything depends on cluster formation based on Mains marks, bcz interview scores will have barely 1-2 marks diff among selected candidates. So my estimate of clusters for UR category is:
(a) 52.5 to 60 marks : conversion score 21 to 24. This should be the thickest lot with around 5000 candidates
(b) 61 to 65 marks: conversion score 24 to 26. Around 4000 candidates.
(c) 66 to 70 marks: conversion score 26 to 28. Around 2000 candidates.
(d) 70 to 75 marks: conversion score 28 to 30. Around 1100-1200 candidates.
(e) 75+ marks: conversion score 30+. Around 800 candidates.
So anyone with 60+ has good chance of conversion, provided they scored around 60+ in interview.
Final Cutoff's
In SBI if we see the final cutoff saw a similar drop of 10 marks as it was in mains exam. Since IBPS has shown a decline of 24 marks, this will also get reflected in final cutoff's, though the extent may vary.
My Prediction: UR: 35-36; OBC: 33-35; SC & ST: lower than 33.
