Puys asking for guidance on English, this may help:

First

The following resources are the most basic and most important:

1. Word Power Made Easy, Norman Lewis

2. Better English, Norman Lewis

Finish these two books religiously. You should be comfortable with any and every part of these books.

Why should you read these books?

These will help you  become comfortable (or increase your comfort  level with words and  grammar. After mastering these books English will  feel less like a  language and more like mathematics (figuratively  speaking).

Next, pick a news paper. I use The Hindu. Read the following sections:  1. Editorial (Generally on page

2. Featured articles (Generally on page

3. Oped (Generally on page 9)

4. World (Generally on page 12)

5. Business (Generally on page 13 and 14)

Why should you read these?

Reading the first three  sections mentioned above will improve your reading comprehension  dramatically. Generally, these sections have articles pertaining to the  latest burinng issues. One, it gives you an in-depth knowledge of the  issue, and second, it helps you develop your thought process.
Subconsiously, over the time, you start getting  comfortable with big  words and unusal phrases. And believe it or not,  this is what makes  all the difference in those 20-30 minutes of an  examination. Also,  reading all these sections will supplement your GA preparation  for any  examination, apart from making you a more aware citizen.

Next, start attempting mocks. There are plenty of apps available these   days. Install one or more, and start taking tests. I prefer BA. The   smaller the tests, the better. You would get enough time to gather your thoughts, and you can guage your proficiency by guaging your speed and   accuracy.

What should you do to make the most of it?

1. If you start a test, finish it.

2. Maintain a notebook for the takeaways.

3. Pay attention to not just the correct answers, but the wrong ones as well.

4. Schedule a weekly review.

5. Never, I repeat, never ever, skip a scheduled review.

Next, join CAT forums on PG and try solving the complex questions. This  goes without saying that one should go through the generally recommended  books viz. Objective English etc.

Follow the given steps and you will be my master in two months. Wish you all the very best!

Suggestion, crticism, appreciation, all welcome.
