This is my take on the gurmehar row, you are welcome to disagree. It's a rather long post. I read a post below which said that gurmehar is doing 'nautanki'. I think this was the most unfortunate statement to make. The video in which she talks about her father being an army man and dying for the country is about a year old, and if you go through the video you would see that it's video about letting go of your hate. She talks about how much she hated pakistan and muslims but a certain incident which she talks about in the video changed her outlook and she had decided to let go of her hate. It is completely unrelated to the current post where she says that she is not scared of the ABVP. Not once has she said in the post that her father was a martyr. It's the trolls who have dug up her past post and have picked up only a certain part of the video to make her look in bad light. All she did was voice her opinion about the ABVP which resorted to violence at ramjas college. She recently said that she is backing out of all this which for some of us seems to be nautanki, but what we forget while making that assumption is that so far she has been trolled by celebrities like sehwas and randeep hooda, she has been given rape and death threats. It is unfair to expect someone to continue receiving so much hate for simply voicing their opinion. We should be ashamed that a young voice was armtwisted into silence by the violent forces in the social media. Some were saying it was a member of the AISA who gave her rape threats. This again is untrue as there has not been any investigation by the police into this matter and so far all that is known is that the person who gave that treat is named Rahul. Everyone from politicians to celebrities have trolled Gurmehar, it's shameful to say the least.
Guys, tighten your seat belt. You will get your score by evening today. 😄
