Pals I had a bad interview experience in a private xxx bank lately... It was my 3rd banking & finance interview... 3 Male members were present in panel.
I entered the hall with a smile wishing them. The head said "Man you look a bit tired" [i wasn't dizzy! i just lost my French beard 1st time for an interview, lol] i instantly replied about my long journey. [First impression abhi ho gaya!]
1. My start, self intro went good.... I belong to ECE major.., I ended saying that after graduation worked part time on custom WordPress sites + content creation to meet financial expenses .. (I later understood I dug my own grave!) Most of the questions that interviewer shooted were in depth related to Domain/IT/HTML designing ...I don't know much(anything!) they gave me clues too still failed to answer 50% of questions...(should I avoided mentioning this Or explained in particular manner?) In part of the interview one of the panel members- quite aged, seemed head of the panel went out for break. $# what?
2. I had 7+ backlogs in semester 4. But cleared most of them in semester 5 except two & in later sems to NIL. After seeing that doc he questioned about backlogs and told me that I wasn't serious in studies(Clean bowled.. RIP my first class ECE!) ...I didn't expected this from him and my half baked story at that presence (sports concentration) messed up badly. (Later after interview I felt I should have requested him to see my other semester mark sheets and justify my achievements!)
3. In 12th std I scored 75% he questioned where do I stand in between their 90%+ people who were competing with me... I fumbled again made up something loosely about extra curricular activities... [Later leaving the hall I felt I should have smashed his question by saying, "we both 90% and 75% people are here for same interview after clearing a difficult pan India written exam... that shows my potential!" ....Hmm or... "Everyone has a unique talent, can't an average guy become a successful model?" S** slow as turtle again :( ]
4. And when asked about college placements I mentioned that i skipped two IT opportunities due to high interests in banking & finance sector.. (Also after BE I quit part time designing job lately to prepare full time) He questioned me why I made that decision amid bad financial circumstances and explained me it doesnt mean job going people cannot acheive something.. I honestly said about mumbo jumbo competition... He replied that I don't have clarity and focus.. [Wtf two years man!]... Interview ended with explaining hobbies question..[I mentioned playing badminton and watching hollywood movies...again i played hard they don't know about Di Caprio, atleast i explained about him and his magnum opus, The Revenant] Bad hobby huh?
Have i lost my chance or was that some sort of stress interview? PO interview, upcoming week.. Haha! depressed little 😕 Plz help me to rectify my mistakes further friends.
