Not trying to get my hopes up, but I would like to know a little bit about a few things.
1) On what basis do they allot home state/other state or home city/other city (within home state)? Does marks/gender has anything to do with it?
2)How much time do we get from 1st April till joining date, minimum?
3) Is it possible that one may get posted in an urban locality or is it a rule of thumb that all POs initially get posted in rural branches?
4) If my top preferences are IB, IOB, BOB, BOI, Central Bank of India is it possible for me to get in any one of them considering the fact that my scores are more likely to be hanging around the cut-off.
I know there are no "exact" answers to these questions, but I'd like the seniors to pitch in and throw some light on these matters as they are hard to find through Google search.

I am happy that some new and proactive admins have got the responsibility now. I am really happy by watching the level of commitment by some admins here.
Take the case of one highly enlightened mod .He is seen commenting in every post. Matlab users ke kam post and comments hai. In mod maharaj ke jyada hai.....this is the level of commitment towards your thread.....respect for this man
Instead of inviting the new user, he is trying to strangulate him to pop out the reason for the post, otherwise the user would be tagged a spammer.
Such should be the level of commitment, respect for this mod.

Here i hav seen gud analysis of 35-36. I hav also seen people predicting 37-39 And some people more than 40 also. Hope what may b the final cutoff ibps could hav given every candidate a fair chance to battle and make it to the final list with a decent final cutoff. All the best to all of u.
