What they mean high in merit mentioned in the official notification?

Yesterday, IBPS released an Official notification and cleared the suspense over Interview. According to the Official Notification, IBPS has decided to discontinue the Interview Process for IBPS Clerk V Recruitment. Let us understand what steps would be taken afterwards and how will the recruitment process be completed. First let’s look at the process adopted till CWE Clerk IV - For IBPS Clerk IV, the Provisional Allotment is done on the basis of combined score of CWE Written and Interview; and the weightage given to CWE Written and Interview is in the ratio of 80:20 respectively. However according to the Official Notification released yesterday, the interview for the recruitment of IBPS Clerk V has been terminated. Now for the recruitment 100% weightage will be given to the score obtained by the candidate in the online Main Examination of CWE-Clerks-V, instead of 80: 20 for CWE Main examination and interview. And hence in order to get the final selection, a candidate should qualify in the CWE Clerks-V main examination and should be sufficiently high in merit to be shortlisted for provisional allotment. But as per the nature of the IBPS Clerk Exam, recruitment in clerical cadre in Public Sector Banks is done on State/UT-wise basis. So instead of the previous rumours of conducting a Psychometric test, IBPS has preferred Test on Official Language Proficiency. However it is entirely dependent upon the Allotted Bank to conduct Official Language Proficiency test i.e. the allotted Bank may or may not conduct the language Proficiency test. It is important to note here that – Candidates are shortlisted for Allotment on the basis of Merit list only and The official Language test, if conducted, will be conducted before the issuance of the Offer Letter by the Allotted Bank. Also, since the sole criteria of selecting a candidate for final list now is the Merit List, it is expected that the Sectional and Final Cutoff will increase. Note here that the Final cutoff is different for different state/UT. Now if a candidate failed to qualify in the Official Language test, even after Provisional Allotment, then in this circumstance his /her chances of being recruited as Clerk gets cancelled. For instance, if a candidate from UP have applied for IBPS Clerk V from Gujarat, then he/she must qualify the Official Language Proficiency test i.e. Gujarati Language Test otherwise he /she will lose his/her chances. Thus, the chance of getting recruited as a Clerk, in PSBs, of a candidate depends mainly on the two factors given below: 1. Merit List – In the making of Merit list, the main role is played by the marks scored in the Mains Exam of CWE Clerk. However, in case of tie of Marks of two or more candidates, the merit list is decided by Date of Birth i.e. the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age. 2. Official Language Proficiency Test –This test is conducted after the Provisional Allotment and is conducted by the allotted Bank to test the Official Language Proficiency. Proficiency of language means: You should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT. List of Hindi Language States & UT : Bihar, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand. Let’s discuss the cases which directly affect your chances of Provisional Allotment and further impact your chances of recruitment. 1. If your attempt is high but failed to qualify Sectional cutoff: It may happen that a candidate attempted around 160 + but he/ she didn’t manage to qualify the sectional Cutoff. Thus his chances are terminated. 2. If your attempt is low but qualify sectional & merit list cutoff: For instance, a candidate who attempted 140 questions with good accuracy will make it to the provisional Allotment. Thus may also get recruited as Clerk. To help you understand the pattern of Vacancies (State wise) we are providing the previous year vacancies i.e. IBPS Clerk IV. IBPS Clerk IV Vacancies Note: It is important to note that as per AS Bhattacharya, Director and member secretary, IBPS; in IBPS Clerk V, the number of Clerk’s vacancies is approx. 30,683, which is less than previous year vacancies.

Expecting 145-150 I know I may be around the border line either way. That's the worst thing sitting on border. Desperation at peek
