Guys,

frankly speaking, these institutes that you have mentioned for actuaries courses are below par....all of them. As in they are not going to get you good actuaries jobs. The only flagship institution that is recognized for India in the actuaries courses is the Actuarial Society of India. Just as there are regulatory bodies for accountants (ICAI for CAs and ICWAI for ICWAs) the regulatory and reciognized body for the study of actuarial discipline is the Actuarial Society of India. However, I am sorry to see that no post mentions this.

For a lowdown on the ASI course, visit this...

hey tumtum..i tell abt A.S.I in 6 th post.. but he was searching for some diploma in actuaries from distance eduaction...thats why i tell these universities..btw r yu alos preparing for actuarial...

Hi All,
I would appear in CT1, CT2 & CT3 exam to be held in Nov. 08. If anyone knows any openings for actuarial sudents do let me know.
To make it clearer ASI is the only institute which is formally recognised Institute by Institute of actuaries of London and is worth trying. Else than this no any actuarial education acquired in India is considered as at par with world class standards.

Regards,
Siddharth

the whole course duration from ASI is very long as per my info.
also the no. of students reaching the final level is very less.
is it true dat actuaries ppl are one of the highly paid professionals in US ?

Any actuarial course is very long let it be India ,US or Iraq

You will need to pass 15-16 papers to get that fellowship, and will need immense dedication and hardwork for the same!

And yes, actuaries are actually one of the highest paid people in USA. Infact Actuaries has ranked in top 2-3 jobs in USA for last 5 years in terms of job satisfaction.

Hello Guys, does anybody know, how long (how many years) does it normally take to get the fellowship from ASI. I'm planning directly to join ASI and not do the full time courses in the other institutes as I would like to continue working.
Right now I'm working as an Insurance agent, so will it help me in my career to study actuarial science?
My aptitude in Maths is quite good(above 85 in both 10 & +2). I have also done my BE in EEE.

i need some help ...
i would humbly like to state my command over maths...as its the second thing i dream of...
i got 92%in 10..(with 2 maths subjects)
but unfortunately due to some personal problems i got 66% in 12...
and currently an engg. student..
please guide me so that i can start clearing the actuarial papers as soon as possible...
