Welcome to the Department of Management studies, Pondicherry University, discussion thread. We, the current students of the B-school are here to answer all your queries at all times.
The DMS SOM has a unique position of establishing the first MBA program of the university in 1986 and for the past 26 years, it has been catering to the needs of MBA teaching, Management research, Organisational management, government officers training, industrial consulting and management extension with a team of four professors, four associate professors and two assistant professors.
DMS, Pondicherry University, has been voted as the "Best B-school in South India". Hi this is Raja from Chennai. I am two years experienced in IT. I want to know about the selection procedure followed in Pondicherry DOMS and also the placement package offered for experienced people. I have taken Sep MAT and CAT this year.

Only CAT 2011 Scores are considered for the University admissions cut-off.
The admissions process starts in January and the GD PI will take place in March 2012.
The highest package offered last year was 10 lacs by RBI.

1. CAT Cutoff for OBC-Non creamy(BC in TamilNadu) candidate
Prabhat: The cut-off varies according to your profile and work experience apart from the performance in GD and PI. Usually the cut-off is around 70 percentile. however deserving candidates are given few relaxation.
2. Average and least salary package offered in the campus.
Prabhat: Reserve Bank of India offered a package of 10 lacs last year which was the highest. The average package is around 4-4.5 lacs(which is quite high compared to the total fees paid for two years - Rs 60000/- only. Pondicherry university gives you the highest return on investment in India!!!)
3. Package offered for experienced people(I am 2 years)
The package offered to experienced people is comparatively high to freshers however the package offered to them depends on the company.
4. Course starting and ending month approximately(Need this)
Course Starts; 1st week, July 2012
Course Ends: April 2014(tentatively)

The present rating of the college is B+ but the NAAC committee visited us last month and has declared us A college. However the official letter is yet to arrive from the committee. We will have the proof of it by the time MBA aspirants come for the GD and PI.

The admission process for 2012 batch to DMS, Pondicherry University will start on 12th January , 2012. This will continue till 23rd Febuary, 2012. The alsyt day of receipt of the admission forms by post is 2nd March, 2012 and the GD/PI will be in mid week of march. All the best to all the candidates!!!

Do not worry about the gD..it'll be on a general topic or current topic..abstract topics are very dont feature that much.
In the interview there will be a panel of atleast 3-5 members. But ur CAT percentile carries a lot of weightage although the department wont disclose it. So nothing to worry about. Ur confidence would be enough to get u in
