Okay, i really need some serious career counselling and if you know someone who's been in my path before, please let me know, would be of great help.
B.Tech from an NIT. Gen-Male. Have 2 yrs work ex in Consulting and Management at a German conglomerate. Got IIFT Delhi in 2017 but chose to pursue UPSC Civil services instead. Two attempts - once failed mains , once prelims. My aim was/is to influence India's FP-either Foreign Policy (IFS) or Fiscal Policy(IRS-RBI). Know 3 foreign languages and a GK buff/quizzer.
But of late , there's genuine pressure given familial reasons, financial reasons and others to settle into something and then pursue my interests. Gave a couple of those bank exams and stuff and passed all. waiting for job assignment.
In the meantime, I've appeared for CAT(98.15%ile), IIFT and XAT(99.5%ile). I dont intend to be boastful or pretentious but I didnt prepare for these exams and I should have. Didnt write GMAT.
Have got GDPI calls from the IIM-Indore,Ranchi,Raipur , XLRI-BM&HR , SPJain . Expecting MDI as well. Many people, friends, family and ex-colleagues advise me to take up MBA since i'm familiar with a similar work culture/experience and also for the money. Not sure what to do .
You can help me by getting me in touch with someone who's been through similar circumstances or by lending your own valuable suggestions. Also, kindly answer this poll - Which Institute would you prefer/suggest ? (maybe include a why/ranking in the comments? Thanks)
