Knowledge is, often, considered to be useless until implemented properly. With this thought in mind, the Applied Knowledge Cell (AKC) has been formed by the students of Bengal Institute of Business Studies (BIBS). Under the incomparable leadership of Dr.Anindya Dutta and Prof. Joyita Chatterjee, the club has covered several milestones in its short journey so far. The concept of forming clubs in a Business school is not a new one. However, AKC has carved a niche for itself with its unique ideologies and strategies in every project that they have taken up so far.
The Applied Knowledge Club is a small creative family, which strongly believes in delivering sense with a style. In simple words, the club has a bunch of prolific and enthusiastic students from BIBS working in sync with each other. The club has various functional departments, and the roles and responsibilities are divided for every individual, accordingly. In order to optimize the entire process, every department has its own representatives who ensure a smooth flow of work.
Managing the official website of BIBS in terms of styling, content and design is the main objective of the AKC members. In this direction, an important task accomplished by the team is redesigning the Fun Corner page of the website. With a completely revamped look, the Fun Corner Page is bound to generate significant increase in traffic in the coming days. Besides the website, AKC also capitalizes on social media revolution by conducting online promotion and branding on Facebook and YouTube. The number of likes on the Facebook page of BIBS went up after the collective effort taken by AKC.
There are several activities and events continuously happening at BIBS. AKC takes up the responsibility to promote and market them effectively both in offline and online media. The official newsletter of the institute will be out soon and the members of AKC are currently working on the same.
An individual need not be a saint to do something good, he only needs to be a human being. The Applied Knowledge Cell has shown its humane side by honoring the contribution of the cleaning and maintenance staff at BIBS. The club members acknowledged them with gifts and a small thank you note. Right before the Durga Puja, AKC will have its own celebration. The club plans to celebrate Durga Puja with the underprivileged section of the society. AKC has initiated the campaign to ensure that the festivity becomes a celebration for all.
