Young Citizens of Indian show the way to protect Mumbai:

A cleanliness drive was organized at the Juhu Beach by the students of K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research in association with Young Indian chapter of CII, SIFE Somaiya and Juhu senior citizens welfare association on Wednesday 18th March 2009. CII-Yi is a forum that focuses on issues of national importance and motivates a generational change in the economic and social agendas of India.
Around 100 students gathered for the great cause. The evening saw students performing small skits, unfurling banners with motivational messages and picking garbage lying on the beach under the guidance of Juhu citizens welfare group. The students interacted with local residents, joggers, food vendors, and visitors, spreading awareness about the responsibility of each individual to keep the beach clean. Students also warned people about how the waste sinking into the land and water is making the environment suffer and the diseases caused due to such un-cleanliness and pollution.
The students raised brows of the spectators by asking questions of how the future generations will have a world full of diseases and degraded eco-system. Of how a day would come when the sun would set at a trash covered Juhu Beach, where joggers would run with faces contorted from the smell of the heaping trash, off colored air and water washing the shore with dirt and dead fishes.
Today few young citizens of Indians raised their voice and made other citizens of Mumbai realize their contribution in the uncontrollable pollution, which if not controlled now, will eventually lead to the demolition of the Society.
