Solution for Q 1.
All the numbers which leave a remainder of 3 when divided by 4 will be of the form 4n + 3, where n is a whole number.
For n = 0, 1, 2, 3, …, 124, we have 1
Therefore, the number of values of n in given range= 124 – 0 + 1 = 125.
Now observe that, 4n + 3 is divisible by 7 if and only if n = 7k + 1, where k is a whole number.
For k = 0, 1, 2, 3, …, 17, we have 1
Therefore, the number of values of k in the given range = 17 – 0 + 1 = 18
Hence, the required number of elements = 125 – 18= 107.
