Now i have the query that i am an average student in studies but finance is really interesting for me and i have done my grad in economics hons.
can i cope up wid both MBA and cfa together.:grin:

people do give cfa alongwith their mba .... it is definitely tough if ur academic life is hectic but it is not impossible :
moreover u may study some of the subjects of cfa curriculum in ur mba 1st yr
just register 6 months in advance and start studying

I have joined recently in this blog and all you guys have really been impressive. I am here to ask you for some help. I am a ICFAI CFA aspirant and have failed on both occassions in level 1 exam and have lost my confidence in appearing and passing the exam..can you please help. your advice and suggestions are highly appreciated

I am interested to join course on Finance for my professional growth. I am into IT with Engg. background and need a serious enough course to break into functional domain of my job. But, I am not interested for a course on management. I could find ICFAI CFA as a comprehensive course which is suitable for my needs. But I am a bit skeptical with all the negative publicity about ICFAI in various forms of media. (There are several reason for not selecting the American CFA though, high costs being one of them). Could anyone tell me:
1. Whether CFA which is being offered from ICFAI University, Tripura , UGC recognized. (They claim in their brochures to be so but I am not sure).
2. Whether CFA is a Master Degree programme. (They claim to offer MS Financial Analysis degree again from ICFAI University, Tripura.)
3. I know it is not recognized outside India, but is it recognized by all corporate and other educational institutes within India.

@ab_2010.......dude if u r new to the finance world ......u might find the CFA (US) tough but i would suggest u to go 4 d same........CFA (icfai) has lost it's brand value..........corporate now a days don't even consider icfai (CFA)..as cfa....this is my personal experiance......u r Engg.....thus u might b gud at picking up concepts.......nd CFA(US) is all about precious understanding of the concepts...........nd excecuting d same........best of luck ..........consult some Job consultant nd they would b d right guide 4 u..............their is another course CIIA.........see if it's suits u....

I am B.Tech (I.T), with 2 year of work ex, never had been thru commerce subject . After Working for two years I felt the need of diversification and sharpening my skills in management side. I will be writing CAT next year. I Have enrolled my self in ICFAI- CFA program, but since i don't know ABC of commerce so finding it difficult to understand the subject.My working hour doesn't permit me to enroll for classes, so I am looking forward for some good books to grasp the basics of the subject.
Hope this info will help u in guiding me.
Dude let me giv u a sound advice..........i hav seen people facing it .......no matter hou many times u revice, if u do not see hou d actual Qpaper might look like it might b tough 4 u.......be sure 2 practice d previous Yr. QP atleast twice........nd if u can retreave d same during d exam trust me u would clear..............best of luck........;)

first of all u should consider any finance course only if u r going for a career change .....
secondly considering mkt conditions ROI on US cfa wont be high as mnc are still trying to stop their balance sheets frm bleeding...
thirdly keep in mind whichever u do (cfa) u still hav to go for pg make a decision carefully...bschools hav hiked there fees also ...anyother quries...

Hi ashutoshmba, CFA is good and easy as well for the person like u as you have the work EX in finance field. I suggest you to please follow whole thread slowly and all your queries will be solved properly. 😃
