Join CQ and CP, draw CM is perpendicular to PQ.
Triangle CQM ~ CPB . CQ/CP = CM/CB .......... (1)
Triangle CPM ~ CQD CP/CQ = CM/CD ............ (2)
From (1) and (2) CM^2 = CB*CD = Area of rectangle ABCD = 36cm^2
