bro even if answer is correct here than too we cant take hit & try in cases of none of these too risky.......

answer is d......square root of 19.....
(x^2+y^2+z^2) =19
now for max x
y=z
2y+x=5..............(1)
2y^2+x^2 =19.........(2)
solve for x

from 1, we can take a value for x+z = 5-y and substitute it in 2..
xz + y(5-y) = 3
now (x-z)^2 = (x+z)^2 - 4xz
replace the values for xz and x+z
RHS = (5-y)^2 - 4 ( 3-y(5-y))
= 25+y^2-10y - 12 +4y(5-y)
= 13+y^2+10y -4y^2
= -3y^2 +10y +13..
we know that the square of a number is always greater than or equal to zero
so (x-y)^2 > or = zero
ie 3y^2- 10y-13 3y^2 -13y+3y-39

is it 44.44%? solution is a bit lengthy.. answer is wrong means, I can save the trouble

Is it d( i got answer as 48.148

I will post my solution. Since we have to find the minimum area, let the uncolored cubes be placed in the corners and edges (as three sides and two sides resp. are exposed in corner and edge cubes). so 8 corner cubes and 12X4 edge cubes = 8 + 48 =56
since there are a total of 216 cubes, it can be assumed that we have a 6X6X6 cube
Now, the exposed cubes will be colored. In each face, 4X4 units of exposed area will be there. that means, 16 units in each of the six faces, amounting to 96 units.
Percentage of exposed area is 96 / 216 = 44.444% (approx)
