The soln is ... x+1/x =1 so, x^2-x+1 = 0
or, (x^3+1) = (x+1)(x^2-x+1) = 0
=> x^3 = -1................... use this value in the eqn
we get (-1)^4 + (-1)^3 + (-1)^2 + (-1) +1
=> 1-1+1-1+1 = 1 ................................. Answer
