If x= cos^4(y)+ sin^2 (y) , then range of x is:
x = cos^4 + 1-cos^2 = 1-cos^2+cos^4=1-cos^2(1-cos^2)=1-cos^2*sin^2
x=1-sqr(sin2y)/4; x will be max when sin2y=0=>xmax = 1;
x will be min when sin2y=1;xmin=1-1/4 = 3/4
So,range is [3/4,1]

Brass is an alloy of Cu and Zn. Bronze is of Cu(80%), Zn(4%), Sn(16%). A fussed mass of both has Cu(74%), Zn(16%), Sn(10%). What is the composition of Cu and Zn in Brass ?

@micky0007 take HCF of 945 and 2475 ..that will be the maximum number of animals in each flock,that is 45

945/45=21 flocks of cows and 2475/45=45 flocks of sheep is needed

1st grp has 32^2 = 1024 soldrs
2nd grp has 4726-1024= 3702 soldrs
nearest sqr to this is 3600
hence excess= 3702-3600= 102
