Are the official cat answers ever changed after objections have been raised? Asking it for the VA/RC section. Specifically the para jumble questions. Some answers differ a lot from TIME or IMS Key.

@scrabbler i go through your explanation of normalisation and concluded that Median score of top 5 students divided by 2 will give us around 90 percentile That is top 50 % marks are obtained by top 10 % students According to this 235 -240 will be average score of top 5 students and around 117 - 120 will be 90 percentile

As a random passerby ill clear some doubts about percentiles and predictions to other random,but worried, passerbys since i have nothing better to do atm.
percentiles aren't dependent on how many people are on the top, rather how many are on the bottom. so if the top 5 students have a score of 300 each but the 6th guy has a score of 150, he's still gonna get a 99.x %ile, not a 90( as long as there are more than 600 people taking the test).(replying to another thread down there, with one weird looking formula)
an exam like cat varries in terms of difficulty for everyone, thats why its so hard to predict percentiles. one can even say it awards you not for doing well in the exam, rather for doing better than the person next to you.
Lemme give you a nice example, take this forum only, there are so many people who have a score of 125+ and many of them have 150+, so would that mean the other who have around 110s are getting 40-50%ile? no, cuz the people participating here are the ones who know they have done good and want to know, those who haven't don't want to hence they aint posting.
so like i said before the answer key was out stop wasting your time here, predicting percentiles wont do jack shit cuz at the end of the day no one except IIMC knows how many people did worse than you. take a deep breath and move on.
tl;dr : percentile predicttions are as bad as unofficial answer keys. move on.
