Just went through NITIE's placement report for 2016-18. https://www.nitie.edu/Final%20Placement%20Report%202018.pdf . I don't get why people put MDI above NITIE (though slightly above).Overall average of NITIE is at par with MDI even though the latter has no reservation policy. Average of top 50%ile students 23L. Doesn't this make NITIE a better bet for General candidates ??
I have resigned from Cognizant and joining TAPMI. I am confused whether to join Tapmi or give CAT 2018 where I am hoping to get 98+ %ile. I got 93.29%ile(1st attempt) with 8 months hardcore preparation along with a job of 7 hours, 5 days a week. I have very weak percentile in VARC section(only 76.60). I will have 31 months experience by the time I will leave my job and thinking of preparing full time without job. I am already 25 and I have 78, 71 and 71 percentage in my 10th, 12th and graduation respectively. Please let know what should I do. Quite stressed and confused about my decision of joining TAPMI.

Asking for a friend, Fresher female from Computer science background, got offered pgdim in NITIE, but not at all inclined towards OPS, but she has not got better calls. Most probably will convert new IIMS too. Should she join NITIE or any new IIM? Is it true that female and computer science engineers are at a disadvantage in NITIE?
Guys what is buffer calls? Its significance and which new iims give buffer calls.
Guys whats your order for new IIMs. Mine would be

Is the Average CTC shown in placement reports of the IIMs is the weighted average (i.e. Sum of all the offers students are getting ÷ Total no. of offers) or is it just the average of CTC offered by all companies (i.e. Average CTCs of all companies visiting)? Example: If 2 companies (say A & B) are visiting IIM-X, A offering ctc of 10 lpa and B 20 lpa. But company A places 9 students and B only 1. So the average ctc is 11 lpa (weighted average) or 15 lpa direct ((ctc of A + ctc of B) ÷ 2)? Please comment.
