'An Ode to Pagalguy'
With the current season coming to an end, and a new journey of hopes and dreams about to commence, I'd like to express a long overdue thanks to this forum which I am extremely fortunate to have been a part of - Pagalguy.Ā
Like everyone else out here, I also began my CAT journey on this very forum inspired by many more who had successfully chased their dreams. I met people who were epitome of talent, zeal and humility, always ready to help out their fellow PGians. They have been incredibly helpful in my CAT journey and this post would be incomplete without mentioning them.. @muxi @sawan1994 @ayushsrf43 and many more.
Ā In this journey I found many more like me toiling hard to make their dream come true, giving every mock with utmost sincerity and always ready to help me and others in their doubts and queries. Before I knew, I found myself a member of long forgotten tradition of Pagalguy - Dream teams. Although ours was not an official one but was mentored by an UDT captain and a DT member himself - lord Mukesh goyal.Ā
It was the 'Billi Killers'.Ā
Sharing the same dream in our eyes and possessing the same zeal we started our journey together to tame the nefarious CAT. We faced a lot of ups and downs in this journey - sometimes a 99+ and sometimes not even clearing the cutoff. But no matter how down I was, these guys were always there to lift me up and after a journey which lasted more than 9 months I'd like to conclude this tradition with the final ceremony.Ā

Ā Are colleges in Mumbai overhyped due to their placement figures? The cost of living in Mumbai is much higher when compared to other cities like Chennai, Bangalore, etc. If many of these top colleges are offering placements mainly in Mumbai itself isnāt the 16/17LPA packages you get almost equivalent to a 12-13LPA package in other states?Ā

Is NGO work experience considered relevant at bschools ? I have been working at a local NGO in Mumbai for the past one year as a project co-ordinator, I get a montly stipend of 8K . Finance graduate here. Can someone please shed some light on it ?

CAT 95.4 (sectionals 90+) X/XII/grad : 84/74/76 Ā GEM Ā 32months work ex in IT.
CAP WAT and PI were good but still have doubts converting good IIMs here.Ā
No other calls.
Is it worth going to IIM Amritsar. And I am not just talking about college r degree here, I want a better return in terms of Job, package and all. I am having second thoughts about IIM Amritsar..
