I gave CAT 17 and am planning to give CAT 18 as well. I will be graduating in May this year i.e. 2018. Shall I pursue 1 year pg diploma course in financial management to fill the gap?
Is it okay to say "No sir" to "any questions for us?". I genuinely don't have any questions(I don't give a crap about clubs; just need admission as of now-being honest). So idk if I should make some for my next interviews from here on(I have had 3).

19th Feb 2018: CAP (combined interview for new IIMs) - IIM Trichy Chennai Campus
Written Ability Test (WAT) topic: How can Opposition play a positive role in the decision making process on the political front. (not verbatim)
No document verification.
Interview : Panel of 2 male members (1 Alum + 1 Prof.)
After the greetings were exchanged, I was asked to sit and hand over my documents folder to the alum.
The Professor looked through the Personal data form and gave me the extempore topic and to talk about it for ~2 minutes.
Extempore Topic: Future of EVs (Electrical Vehicles) in India.
Response : Gave details about the GoI initiatives (NEMMP and FAME), need for charging infrastructure, related government’s differential taxation slabs for luxury/hybrid cars and EVs to the willingness of govt. to adopt EVs, spoke about Volvo’s plan to go all Electric portfolio from 2020 and the likes.
Cross questioned by the alum whether this will reduce the problem of pollution to which I suggested moving to renewable sources for electricity generation as in current scenario almost 75% electricity generation (which would be used for charging the EVs) is through Coal based Thermal Power Plants in the country. All this while, the Alum was going through my marksheets and the next question was popped.
You have scored exceedingly well in Thermal Systems and Fluid Mechanics, pretty peculiar for an Industrial Engineer, moving on, tell me what is the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics? (A little abrupt)
Told that entropy of an isolated system can never decrease over time.Barrage of questions on what entropy is, asked about the difference between closed, open and isolated system.
Next few questions on work profile, difference between cycle time and takt time, assembly line bottleneck, material used for the chassis (for Luxury Coach) and major competitors.Going to the hobbies, where the fun began. Basketball. (Alum’s eyes twinkled at that moment).
Favorite basketball player (Dirk Nowitzki), MVP of last season (Tried to bluff me by saying that it was Lebron, but in actuality it was, Russell Westbrook), asked to explain the future legacy of Lebron James and why his team is not doing well this season, went on to ask about the scenario of basketball in India.
Finally, capping off the interview with the views on gun control issue in US.
Well, that was it. No Introduce yourself, why MBA questions, pretty normal in end.
Being the third interview in 7 days, it was not nerve-wracking at least.
do we need to carry extracurricular activities zerox at cap interview???? specially in delhi.
Any idea when is the final date for cap..

Interviews of any college not only give us an amazing oppertunity to change your life but also to meet some of the best people you have ever met. The same happened to me during my interview of IIMS on 19 feb, Delhi. Interview was good but this post is not about that. I met a girl from Jalandhar who had only IIMS call among all the iims. I dont know how good a student she was, but definitely an awesome person with a blend of beauty and charm. The best part was that she got really offended when someone said Punjabis eat a lot(apparantly she started eating digestive biscuits) So a punjabi who eats healthy food lol. I dont know whether she will be able to convert her call or not but she will do something good in life. Cheers!!!
