To all those people who are going to appear for XAT
Lets raise our voices against the "Essay writing" in the XAT which we will have to do using Computers.
After CAT 17, everybody (especially Slot-2) knows about the advantages of Typewriters. We will be more attentive while typing our essays. We will not get distracted by the online shopping sites, urgent emails etc...
The greatest advantage will be:- We would be able to control who reads the content (only XAT officials), hence it will also reduce the instances of "Unfair Practices".
Also, to all those who think that Typewriters will be messier to use, it has already been cleared (official CAT 17 solution) that it will not be so.
Moreover, we will be able to think in a better way because of the encouraging clack of the keys.
Therefore, we need to come together and raise our voices to replace the computers with the typewriters for the "Essay writing" section in XAT...
Puys, need your help!!
Expecting a raw score around 140-150 in Morning Slot but my profile is not so good (8.8 CGPA, 73%, 69%)
I'm a GEM with no work-ex, decent extra-curriculars and fairly good communication skills.
1) Will I get a call from IIMs (Old/New/Baby)?
2) And if I get a call, how hard it will be for me to convert them because of an average profile and no work-ex?
3) Also, what are my chances with the following non-IIM institutes (FMS, MDI, NITIE, SJMSOM, IIT Delhi, IMT, IMI)
Is it just me, or the cat has taken out enough that there is no power/energy/dedication/grit/passion/will/smith to study for XAT?

TIME has done it this time.For my benefit( I am not a student there btw) , it is apparantly going to take out some people who have scored more than me.
If you check their website, they have two sets of percentiles.
1) Set one : Show percentile among people who have submitted data on TIME.
Among 15981 students who have submitted the data, my percentile is 98.37.Translates to a rank of ~260 among just the people who have submitted their data to TIME.
2) Set two: Shows percentile that they seem to have pulled out of their asses. Here I am scoring 99.98 percentile overall.Among 2 lakh people that appeared for CAT this translates to rank of 40 overall.
The only conclusion I can draw from this is that somehow, for some unknown reason, TIME is going to remove at least 220 people who are in my way to AIR 40.

The solution given in the CL key states 21 as the answer. Why 9 cant be the answer! 5 from any one of the 5 depts and 1 each from rest 4.
