Might be a silly analogy, but I think this makes sense.
AIMCAT 1820 is very much similar to the CAT paper this year.
QA(Easiest of all the AIMCATs):
More than 700 students got marks greater than 65, now as the sample space in main exam is higher if we scale the ranks by a factor 3 that would give a rank of 2100 for 65 marks. This would account to 99 percentile in this section.
DILR(Tough): In the mock, 80 percentile was at 18 marks and using the same process as above, 99 percentile would be at 32 marks.
VARC(Moderate): Not sure if I can compare this one with the mock, I felt the main exam was not very easy and heard people quoting some insane expectations. Anyway at 60 marks, you would've got a rank of 700 in the mock.
Here I am considering those who give mocks are some of the serious candidates, that's why used a multiplication factor of 3 for the ranks.

Seems this is the trend here so let me ask. VA - 67 DILR - 38 QA - 68 (raw scores). Probable percentile? (Slot 2)...
There’s this first question of last set in LRDI of slot 1 for which everyone is saying answer is 180. But I cant figure out why.
The intro part of the set mentioned that the flights operates between the cities in both morning and evening (AND NOT BOTH ARRIVING AND RETURN FLIGHTS i.e. Between 2 cities A and B flights A-B and B-A can be scheduled in both morning and evening)
Now the question says that what can be the MINIMUM no of flights so that a person arriving to a city can return back by evening.(Which itself suggests that the arriving flight has to be scheduled in the morning and returning flight in the evening.)
So according to me the minimum flights are 90 and original premise of the question is not violated.
Guys please help me out if i’m missing out something.

Scaling doesn't depend on the difficulty ,it depends on the max marks scored by a test taker in a section ,also no overall scaling takes place. Indiviual scaled scores are added.(just quoting someone here).Well, i have seen a lot of people scoring as much as 25 ques in Slot1 DI LR and same rings true for slot 2 as well.I am sure the top percentilers of both slots scored roughly same .top scores being in the range of 50-60. So even if there is a interslot scaling,it will be a meagre 2-3 marks(at max 1 question) And if DI LR section of slot 2 was a shade easier than slot 1,it was balanced by the level of trickiness in VA RC and Quants as quoted by IMS,CL etc. So, please refrain from commenting on the other slot you didn't appear for and have faith and keep your fingers crossed for you individual performance. I am expecting 90-92%ile overall based on analysis . Quant might get low to 80%ile as I am expecting 30-35 in Quant . Will it hamper my call prospects??

Does people scoring 99.xx in CAT'16 not joining any college last year mean they won't this year too ?

Is is safer to assume that accuracy in CAT will be better than in AIMCATs. Has happened with me consistently for last few years.
