Hi Peeps !
This is an article I wrote way back in January, when the calls from various B schools were out and I wasn't shortlisted for any one of them.
Today, when I came across it again, I felt I should share this with you guys.
So this was my second attempt at CAT. Got a percentile of 99.75. Tenth 87.4, twelvth 92.2 and engineering 82. Work ex of 8 months. Got calls from only C And K(No idea why) . Had a pretty good interview at C and a good GD and interview at K. Got rejected at both. And FMS waitlisted at 180 which won't convert. I still don't understand the reason for my rejection, It went pretty good in both the interviews. Any suggestions as to what to do? Should I take up the new IIMs if i get them?

Guys. This is my profile. CAT 2016 - 94.94 NC-OBC X - 96.6; XII - 94.58; Grad - 8.65/10. 21 months of work experience as of June 2017. ( I have quit my job and notice period ends on June 22 ). Got calls from BIK and L-ABM. Rejected by B. Did not attend I and L. Converted K. I am very much confused whether to join K or to give CAT this year. I'm very confident of preparing rigorously for CAT. What do you think ?

Hello folks. Please review my profile. And suggest me what should I do X-85℅ XII-87℅ B.Tech-78℅ ( Mechanical) Work exp.- 3 years in automobile manufacturing company CAT 2016-99.33 percentile. CONVERTED -MDI,IIM shillong REJECTED- IIM Lucknow ,KOZIKODE Results pending-NITIE What should I do? Go for MDI or IIM Shillong ( for Tag and long term) Or NITIE (if converted ) as my work exp. How can one judge the quality of faculty at a B- School in comparison to another?
I'm a fresher with computer science engineering degree. I gave CAT 2016 and fetch calls from IIM S, FMS and new IIMs. Got rejected by IIM S and wait listed in FMS(very rare chance of conversio). New IIMs result are awaited but I am pretty much sure that I will convert them. My financial status is not stable and I'll get get scholarship in new IIMs(50% of fees). Should I join new IIMs or should I go for next attempt. I am really confused because it will be a big risk for me. Need some guidance.
IIM Lucknow. Is Mess fee included in the Hostel fees or its separate?

Are Cat materials really not required at the time of campus placement aptitude tests. Then how would one prepare for aptitude tests?

Of late,I have observed that new IIMs are being bashed like anything(often without concrete arguments) and private institutes(especially MDI) are being promoted as if they are the only gates to a succesful career. Saw a poll by a girl some other day where she listed each of the new IIMs and why one shouldn't join them. Are these IIMs that bad?Don't they impart education which is why they have been established in the first place? Or all this brand promotion is because of this news item? Thoughts please.
Nc-obc... Plz help guys..Financial issue. 3.5 year work exp in IT Field. No calls from A, I, S, Sp jain.. Sure to convert NITIE and all new IIM and waiting for RTI from IIM L.. Today is the last day to send 20 k to iift and sjmsom will refund only 3k from 2.5 lacs after 10 days. If I leave these two for old iim will it be a good decision as none of the old iim is confirmed till now. Plz comment.
