Hi puys, need genuine opinions -
Profile -
10/12: 86/84
IITR 5 yr Integrated MSc: 64.5
Total work ex: 28 months as of today
Currently working at American Express as an Analyst (average work.. nothing great)
CFA L1 cleared
CAT'16: 99.06 %ile
Calls: IIMK (WL 233), MDI (WL 547)
May convert K (slightest chances). Almost converted MDI PGPIM.
I was thinking of giving one final shot to CAT'17 for C L XL FMS.
However, I am not sure how much my work ex of 3+ years (by the time I join in 2018) would be a problem later on considering I want to take up Finance.
Also, I know the exam is unpredictable so I'm thinking of giving GMAT too. If I don't convert K, then this is the plan (not sure of MDI PGPIM as of now). Just in case I convert K, is it wise to try one more time.
What exactly will be the difference in the roles offered say in Finance at C vs L/XL vs K? Apart from the 20-30 odd front end roles offered at C.
Please share any opinion/suggestions anyone of you might be having. Thanks!

I see a lot of misplaced,unresearched and biased opinions here on PG. Some polls are foolishly biased. Some discussions are at best rants. In the last 2 years I have personally researched a lot and find these to be the most authentic. Do not get into trap by the biased views. You may totally base your opinions on this.

Need some help. I did my graduation in Fashion Designing from NIFT and have three years of rich experience under one of the country's best designer. I gave CAT this year for the first time without much prep and got 98.2%ile. Because of my poor acads got calls only from the new IIMs (Didn't fill any other college's form).
10th - 79%
12th - 67%
Grad. - 74%
Wanted some suggestions:
1. Are the old IIMs by any chance possible with this profile ?
2. Which are the top 10/15 colleges in our country which I can target (which doesnt give too much weightage to aademics) ?
3. Should I try for CAT next year (can academics be a hindrance?) or look for better options through GMAT?
4. Will it be okay if I leave my job and then prepare for CAT/GMAT?
