As you all know the season of MOCK tests is arriving soon, and since most of you guys here are preparing for CAT 21, here are some suggestions from my side.
First, let me start with an example, a true real-life example:-
My friend, Sharma Ji ka londa used to give all the SIMCATs and AIMCATs of the world, used to score super decent 99.8, 99.9 in most of those mocks and used to flaunt his percentile here on PG itself.
On the other hand, was me, I also used to give mocks, but never touched the 99th mark even once in my mocks, my highest being 98.98, never actually felt motivated or demotivated, and never actually took those scores seriously, I just worked on my weak areas after analyzing my mocks.
Let's fast forward to the D-DAY, both sharma ji ka londa and I had the same slot, even same center, both appeared, I was satisfied with my performance, he kept on complaining (mera esa ho jata , vaisa ho jata)Â
again fast forward to the results day, results came and he, sharma ji ka londa hardly touched 99th percentile mark, and I scored 99.4 percentile.
My another friend, his name is Anton, he actually never touched the 98th percentile mark in his mocks, but ended up getting even more than me in the real exam, 99.65 percentile in CAT.
So what I actually want to convey is that don't take your mock scores that seriously, even if you are scoring less don't feel disheartened, or even if you are scoring very good, don't get excited, the pressure while giving mocks at the comfort of your home and the pressure while appearing for the actual exam, what we call the D-Day, is totally different.
Mocks are meant for identifying your weak areas and work on those areas, not to compare your scores with others and post the same on PG and Telegram groups to flex. Â (Results ke din bura vala katega, jaisa sharma ji k launde ka kata.
I hope you understand my point.
