A:  Tell me about yourself?

Me: Told.

A:  Stopped me in the middle as my address mentioned Jasola vihar, Near Shaheen bagh metro. Then he started with caa/nrc protest.

Me:  Told the whole thing then how it got wrong and what it was supposed to be. Talked about miscommunication between govt and people, how it was projected in media and all. Seems satisfied.

A:  Suppose you are in govt and you have to stop protest how will you do it?

Me:  Told. He Seemed satisfied. No followup question.

A:  Asked about protest culture. is it okay ?

Me:  Told. He Seems satisfied. Again no followup question.

A:  What is your fav subject ?

Me: Told operating system, algorithms.

A:  Asked one algorithm based question.

Me: Told.

A:  Suddenly changed the base case and said you were wrong.

Me: <poker face>

A:  Asked a little about the best team squad award (mentioned in achievements).

Me: Told

A:  Asked about the single-core processor, dual-core, and octa-core. Why lagging occurs after usage. Then asked suppose I use a 16 core processor. Will my speed be very good.

Me: Told it depends a lot on how the programming is done. yes, the speed will increase in general but to what extent will depend on alot on how efficiently the resources are handled.

A:  Define yourself in 1 word.

Me:  Diligent.

A:  You wrote in sop that "my cs degree" do you mean counter strike.

Me:  I laughingly told no that computer science. (later I realized he was not joking) <His poker face moment>

Now P2 started. Till this moment i wasnt even aware he is present in room. (They were sharing laptop)

P2:  Started with DBMS (had specifically mentioned that I am working in os related field). What is 1NF, 2NF, BCNF?

Me:  Told for 1NF and 2NF. Mixed up bcnf.

P2:  Asked about virtual class, polymorphism, function overloading.

Me:  Told about function overloading and polymorphism (a little mixed up in the start) but couldn't remember the virtual class.

P2:  Asked about semiconductors.

Me:  Told basics then cleared that I am working on the software side so I don't know the nitty-gritty details. (to avoid further followup on that)

P2:  Are you even prepared for the interview(not sure he said it jokingly or seriously. he had a mask on). He then tells how he still remembers college studies even after 2 decades. <Me smiling the whole time>

P2:  Asked then what did you prepared for?

Me:  I told related to my work, os, algorithms, gk etc.

P2:   gk what? Greater Kailash ?

Me:  Told no sir general knowledge. (now i was sweating).

P2:  He then said I think you are the guy who takes a shortcut every time.

Me:  No sir. I do take my work seriously (not sure why I said that. later realised could had salvaged this moment).

P2:  Proceeds to ask about Mughal history, timeline of rulers that ruled delhi.

Me: Told.

P2:  Which part of the history interest you ?

Me:  2nd world war. (could see the flash of smile in his eyes).

P2:  Tell the names of all concentration camps.

Me:  Told about Auschwitz, frankfurt.

P2:  Asked about the place trials held for the war crime.

Me:  Nuremberg trials.

P2:  Was there a concentration camp in Nuremberg?

Me: Not sure sir. <i was sweating and that was pretty much visible>

P2:  Why ww2 happened? Tell the name of 2 atom bombs dropped on Japan?

Me:  Told. It's a mixture of everything from resource grabbing of another country, national pride, ww1 treaty was not fair to Germany, the rise of nationalism in Europe, selling of hope by leaders all that. then told the 2 atom bombs name.

P2:  How many Jews were killed in ww2.

Me:  I told around 55 mil (it was 5.5 mil originaly).

P2:  Laughed and asked am i sure ? then said lets come back to Indian wars. why Indian people were fighting among themselves and all.

Me:  Told about dominance, resources grabbing all that.

P2:  You should see it in the light of economics not in just social light.

Me:  Told that's what I said, sir. resources were an important thing. East India company was only interested in India or china because of its vast resources.

P2:  Yup yup. that's what you should be focusing on. Economics side. Best of wishes for you then.

"Haan mummy, interview fod diya ekdum chinta na karo aap" 💪🏻😎

Any clue about IIM RANCHI PGDM HR composite score required to convert it for non engineers. People with past experiences do share some insights

No offence meant, but it's time someone renamed this thread "PINKU Bedlam 2021, Memes & Discussion – PaGaLGuY"

Does a general guy only have 35.5% seats in iims??Damn!! I didn't notice it before. I always thought open seats are 50%..and i think every IIM has the same criteria!!..saw iim bg's admission policy they had reservation:

Anyone over here working in Deloitte/PwC/KPMG? I am looking for a referral. 20 months experience in EY advisory.

According to you guys ,what's the ideal interview? Like what should be the basic structure of interview to evaluate the candidate?

My thoughts -

1.Small Intro is must (in-line with SOP)

2.Very few gk questions that are  related to individua in a way ,but should be there.

3.Academic background questions related to application and bigger impact of it in later stage in life . Like how one should use previous academics in career or started using it already for that matter. Not much questions from formulae /direct concepts.

4.Work-ex questions should be related to skills and experiences a student gain,

also how the MBA help in corporate ?

5.  Why MBA ,what is your expectation from it ,how you will use it, short term and long term plans (like where you want to take your career, not a specific answer but a broad idea you can share)

6.what you do in your free time (can be extra curricular, interests ,even watching netflix and chill, but what is the use of that and how it change you as a person in a better way)

Overall,  they should evaluate student as what kind of person he/she is and how the person is thinking about career growth ,rather than past sins. Not too structured and formal . It should be more of a discussion rather than a one liner/word Q&A.

Do add your thoughts . Because i feel MBA admssion interviews are more of to check, will we able to get him/her placed, will he/she survive here or get good marks, will he/she is good for our college image.

When 2 of your dream colleges schedule a PI on the same day and refuse to reschedule it...
