Guys ,I was wondering that this year CAT paper was more like my worst nightmare.Last year I got a call from IIM Indore and was wondering that Noo yaar I deserve better and now it looks like IIM INDORE looks at me saying last year you rejected us now we reject you. Hopefully get lucky enough to even get a call from any IIMs

Hi guys, as a first time CAT taker, I felt that CAT is not doing justice to its status of being the gateway to premier Business Schools in India. So, to get the popular opinion, I would like to know what would be the ONE change that you would like CAT to undergo? Would love to hear the veterans' take on this in particular. I have listed a few things that I felt could be considered. If you have other suggestions, feel free to use the comment section.

  • A “NON DILR-DRIVEN” CAT - The block nature of DILR means that you either lose or gain marks in chunks. As a result, the DILR section, in a way, can make or break a CAT for you. I would prefer more simpler sets with just 1/2 questions per set.
  • A “VERNACULAR” CAT - Allow people to take CAT in Hindi and other regional languages. This, however, is a challenge in VARC. But, considering the nature of questions(No grammar) asked in recent years, it is definitely possible.
  • A “STANDARDISED” CAT - More along the lines of GRE and GMAT. Multiple attempts in a year would allow students to take less stress. Our nation hasn’t embraced this mode of exams yet but CAT would be a good place to start.

I might be a little late to the party, but did you guys feel that the submit answer button in the exam was a little unresponsive 80% of the time? I had to click on it atleast 4-5 times, when I marked an answer and wanted to move to the next question. Although I faced no problems while skipping an unanswered ques.
