No matter how much they tell you there is no corruption in the system, the hard reality is that there is. Regionalism, baap ka contact in political parties, baap ka friend working as a prof in the institute is destroying the integrity of the whole system. Of course getting a call is pretty much on your merit but what happens during the final list is far kept apart from the public. Even if you file an RTI you cannot exactly figure out how much the prof had marked you in the interview and how much have you got in the composite score. A fellow school friend of mine got a call from IIM Indore last year and said his father's friend was a prof there and converting wouldn't be a problem and he eventually did convert(Obviously he did well to get a call but using wrong means to get the convert is pretty unfair to others). I heard of a similar incident in quora about the candidate's connection with the ruing party and converted a top iim with an avg profile. Connection with the ruling party has also eased the process of getting EWS or other caste certificates respectively in the states. Similarly injustice in the form of shorter interview time (20 mins for one candidate 5 mins for the other) and prejudice against a particular caste, a particular race, against people who are working in family business are unsaid evils in the system. If you think everything is fair in the final list preparation you are living in a bubble. The interview and WAT process should be strictly replaced by a psychometry and objective knowledge test. Where there is an opportunity of corruption in this country, the sad truth is, there will be.
