So, with IIM Rohtak 'leading' the way with INR 2000 for their individual WAT PI registrations and IIM Amritsar following suit (albeit with an amount of INR 1500), what kind of precedent is being set? My take: It's anyway a matter of time before the Big 2 (Or three, depending on how you perceive IIM Udaipur currently. It's surely getting there) - Ranchi and Trichy- opt out of CAP and I think we're very likely to see the dissolution of CAP as we know it in the next 4-5 years. So, if each institute demands a sum of around 2k, where does that leave us? Rohtak had shortlisted 22k candidates and even if half of them end up paying the registration fee, it still amounts to an impressive 2.2 crores. Quite an incentive to try again. Make no mistake, many other IIMs are coming up with such shenanigans next year or even this year, as Amritsar example has proven. Trying to understand their PoV as well: This might allow them to filter out only the really interested (or forced ones; sectional victims like me although I opted out of Rohtak) candidates. This, in extension, will help in smoother waitlist movements and most importantly will fill out all their seats which unfortunately hasn't been accomplished in the recent years. Not totally anyway. But as of now, it's difficult to view this approach of theirs as anything other than a money-minting tactic. Making NM proud again: 2020. Thoughts?

Koi na sab karlo aapne man ki.. Hum bhi dekh rahe hai..
