Is probability and PnC required for CAT?
Hey guys.....this is my first attempt So plz suggest me to preferences regarding IIMS
Both TIME and IMS websites aren't working for me for 5-6 hours now. Anyone else facing one/both of these issues?
In my ssc percentage.. i had 5 Subjects and an additional subject which was not considered while calculations cgpa but in my cat form , I have mentioned total marks to be 500 instead of 600.. although it is making a difference of only 0.3%..so what should I do now.. will it create any problem in the future..please clear this doubt.. I cannot fill the form again.. please help

I made the payment for CAT application form on 15th Sept (Sunday), I also received the conformation mail stating that "Your application has been successfully submitted" yet I am unable to get the PDF of my Application form.I am still able to edit it. Can anyone clarify on this ?
I have no passions or any specific interests or specializations till now. I've been doing random stuff in college, like content writing, social media marketing etc. I'm a bcom hons student in which literally all commerce subjects are covered, and I'm fairly interested in all of them. I'm not able to find my 'thing', my 'passion' and something the interviewers can question me on. It sounds stupid, but this problem makes me really worried and even wary of my decision for an MBA at FMS. I'm in my second year of college with 95/95/73 in acads. What do you think I should do?

I had sent out an email a couple days back to IMS team regarding the frequent outages most of us have been facing over the past few weeks on their website. Honestly, i didn't even expect a reply from their side and it was more about me venting out the frustrations than letting them know the current state of things.
However, I did receive a reply earlier today. And it came from Tony Xavier himself. The legendary VARC-LRDI maestro. I was at a loss of words after reading it. I admire the prfoessionalism he exhibited in the reply. Takes a big person to admit that things are not going in the right direction.
Tony wouldn't want this but I feel obliged to publish his reply here so that many of us can get to know where he's coming from and the real issues at the backend(God knows we have a million IT professionals here, myself included). Here's the reply. I have not edited a word and since the reply is too long and due to frequent issues experienced while posting images (screenshot in this context) here, I am pasting the mail -like I said- word-to-word. Here goes:
Hi Vidit,
For the first time I am at a loss to how to start a mail.
Firstly, I really apologise for all the endless trouble you had to go through with our portal.
I get exactly where you are coming from as a working professional with precious and limited time to allocate towards CAT prep.
The last few months have been extremely frustrating for us on the tech front. We have had to deal with issues almost every single day and most of my team is busy trying desperately to fix the issues and then talk to students to see if their portal is working. This is only to say that we are not oblivious to it but very much trying to solve it.
What follows is not a defense but more an explanation of why things have been this way.
We work with a small tech firm based out of Chennai and they have been working with us since the CAT went online a decade ago. This year we have seen a 50% jump in people taking SimCATs and using the portal and somehow all of the issues that so far were negligible have blown up.
We are working with them every single hour but they do not seem to have answers to why the problems are cropping up repeatedly. They seem to have huge business issues and the founder who built the platform is busy trying to put those fires out.
So even with our best intentions, we are solving every single problem that gets reported to us but not able to fix the larger issue.
We are working with them on the load balancing front as actively as we can to ensure the outages are as minimal as possible. The only long-term solution is moving to a serverless architecture but that will not be possible in the middle of this season.
My tech lead is even personally getting on to calls to speak to students and we have also taken remote access to students’ computers to figure out issues.
Yesterday was the worst with the vendor who hosts our domain facing an outage. The same vendor hosts our major competitor’s domain and even their site was down yesterday. And to be honest I let out a sigh of relief when I heard that. That’s how bad things have been. And I hope that was the last big downtime.
We will do our best for the rest of the season since we know how important this period is for all students.
And more importantly we are not just looking to survive this season. We are actively courting large tech development firms, having decided to commit a greater percentage of our revenues to tech. Infact, I am traveling to Bangalore this Friday to meet a few of them.
The reason I have written and revealed so much is because I do not want you to in one bit think that we are insensitive or oblivious to your problem or are not doing anything.
I bigger reason is that the way you worded the mail. Over the past few weeks of incessant mails we have had the odd student even use swear words with our phone support team, without even considering that they were speaking to women.
Your e-mail was so considerate and honest that I felt that I owe you this response.
I have been with IMS for a while now and I am proud of the content we create and I myself have created questions for SimCATs back in the day. And if anyone is hurt the most because of poor tech letting down great content, it is me.
Once again, apologies for your experience.
Hopefully, the worst is behind us.
Rest assured we will do our best to not let your prep down and we will use the rest of the season to make sure you recommend us.

To all the people who've booked their SIMCATs and are taking them as take home mocks.If you've taken the test could you please cancel your booking for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.There are no slots in Delhi at any centre at any time.I don't like giving mocks in take home mode(it defeats the purpose of proctored SIMCATs)
