Hi guys, This year was my first attempt for CAT and got approx 92%tile. Have been shortlisted for new IIMs. Interview didn't went well. I am in huge dilemma whether to join or appear for CAT19. As I haven't prepared for CAT18 , so thinking of giving next year with full prep. But already I have 30 months of work ex till now in IT sector and will create negative impact on my profile for next year. Please suggest what should I do. Profile- 86/79.4/75.9 B.tech in mech from NIT CAT- 73.68/97.5/94 Interested in operation- NITIE se call Ni aaya VA ne bamboo laga di. Present job sucks although have big brand name. Dear all, need as many inputs as I can get on the following choice: IIM B PGP vs ISB PGP
My profile: GEM with 2.75 years work experience
(I know I’ve polled this before elsewhere, I thought I’d check once again on a larger group to check reproducability of poll results on PG)

Correct me if I'm wrong.
ISB and IIMs offer a different degree altogether and I think shouldn't be compared. A PGDM (Now MBA after the Bill) from A,B,C could get you a similar job to that a certificate from ISB. But if you do from IIMs, one always has the option to study a proper MBA through GMAT from foreign unis in future if he/she is looking for a good international profile. But if we do from ISB, from all the seminars about ISB held by the students from ISB in my college, I learnt that it is good if you want to stick to South East Asian region.
So I guess ISB is best for people with exp >=2.5 while for the rest (freshers) its better to stick with IIMs and maybe go to US/UK/INSEAD if one wants foreign profiles after a few years of work when you are eligible for the 1 year MBAs offered.
Getting into ISB through GMAT is like getting into new IIMs through CAT (the requirement is very low scores). GMAT de rahe ho toh uske top institutes ko jaane ka prayatna karna chahiye na.

Selected in IMT-G (Marketing), I am not able to find much information about the college, everything refers to it’s glorious days back in ’05 to ‘09. I have a keen interest in Marketing but I’m disheartened to see the average placements. Can someone please shed some light on Marketing Placements in IMT-G!? Placements for Marketing stream ought to be better right? Please Help. I can’t afford to take CAT next year. This is my best call.

I am a B.Tech ECE 2018 pass-out. Class X/XII/UG- 93.1/85.33/84. Been working in education industry since July 2018. I've given CAT 17 & 18 with scores of 99.00 and 99.23. I couldnt do well in interviews as I couldnt balance work and preparation well.(IIM S, CAP, SPJIMR,IIFT,MDI,SIBM-P). Should I give CAT 19 again ? Pros & cons please.
