quant 19 20 , va 19 20 , aisa lag rha tha giving iit again , 1 question from pnc , 1 from numbers , pair of straight lines , locus , strictly decreasing functions were all in my set . LR 1 was easy , 1 avg , 1 unsolvable , the set was like if challenging you , come solve me. last year percentile 92 , cl mocks percentile 90-98 , dont know whats going to happen , keeping fingers crossed.
Wow!! I'm the first one to rush to the pc to write about my CAT review:
1) How many attempts you have made? Sec1: 18 & Sec2: 22
2) Your last mock score? CAT'12: 94.09; Mocks: from 65 to 99%ile
3) How was your experience of the test? CAT is unpredictable.
4) What was the surprise element for you?LR was time consuming, RC had 4 ques, very less geometry ques
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? Give mocks
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc. Moderate paper....both the sections. There were speed breakers and those who are not comfortable with VA will try to solve all LR which'll take time. Trend is similar with LR & DI (2 easy sets & 1 difficult)
QA was nightmare. I had more arithmetic which is not my strength π , also questions were from co ordinate geo, trigonometry, integral sol ques...only 1 geometry ques π
7) Any other query or something you would like to share.Don't expect anything from CAT. Just utilize those 70 mins wisely. KEEP CALM!!
PS: No idea how i performed. Hope normalization won't screw my result.π

1) How many attempts you have made?
21+26 in QADI + VALR
2) Your last mock score?
99.51 in Simcat 10, CAT 2012 - 98.99
If you are there at repository thread, please provide the link here.
3) How was your experience of the test?
Smooth, the Prometric staff even allowed a couple of people to write the test without original IDs.
4) What was the surprise element for you?
After reading earlier reviews of tough LR, surprisingly easy LR sets
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? None
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
QA - Tough
Had some pretty tough questions from Functions and Geometry... There were a few simple questions from Logs, TSD but that's it. Questions ranged from a variety of topics like PnC, Numbers, Algebra with majority from Geometry, Numbers, few from Functions (which were tough)
DI - Moderate - Tough
All three sets were time consuming and not easy at all.
VALR - This was easy - moderate. 2 LRs were moderate and 1 was very easy.
Rest of VA comprised of 2 PJs 2 FIBs, 2 Para completions, 2 Phrasal words, 2 Odd sentence out. No Secntence correction was there.
3 RCs - 3+3+4.. The 4 setter was a tough one.. Rest two were easy to read with close options
7) Any other query or something you would like to share.
Nope
1) How many attempts you have made?
QA-22....(till now no wrong...i hope this reflects in results also)
VA-25 (bit skeptical abt this section bcoz nt able to do 2 LR questions)
2) Your last mock score?
CAT 12-91.76 CAT11-91.5 . In mocks usually it rangeg from 90-99
If you are there at repository thread, please provide the link here.
NOpe
3) How was your experience of the test?
Smooth.....whole testing process was glitch free though power cuts were there in between bt didnt affected much.
4) What was the surprise element for you?
2 tough DI sets...bcoz this year Di is bit on a moderate side..
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?
I thinkthis queston is cliched by nw..bcoz everyone here takes online mocks.
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
Dud...whatte paper it was...though i attempted max questions from quant part but it still it seemed as if one has to literally earn those marks (my cheeks wer red hot after seeing the QA questions nd DI toh was like hell(one DI was like boss either u attempt all quant questions or u can do that di set)...i was on the verge of giving up in this section bt somehow managed to keep my cool and finally did sum decent job i guess....overall in quant section nt very satisfied bcoz 1 di set ehich seemed doable bt was not able to attempt it.(Break up-majority of questions frm algebra nd number system followed by geometry pnc ..thats it...DI-one easy bar graph , one caselet( cud have done itπ ), nd one table based(spoilerπ )
Okay....section 2 was a tad manageable bt no respite here also when it comes to RCs...ecept 1 other two wer greek to me..verbal was usual mix of sum tricky bt doable questions consisting of 3PC 2PJ 2 odd man out 2 FIB 1 Grammer 1 word usage....2 LRs were easy bt third 1 was hellish(kash ye ek set aur ho jata toh english mein confidence aa jata)....overall this section i wud a tricky one .
All in all a gud paper set by these people , the one wherein one has to think in each nd every question bt questions wer doable if one has cracked the logic behind it....
7) Any other query or something you would like to share.
I wud say dont take this exam as sumthing larger than life ..bcoz der are sum other much more important thing waiting for u in ur life ahead...just take it as one more mock which u have been taking for past 4-5 months....nd yes ....most important lines for any cat aspirant "DONT PANIC . STAY CALM nd u will sail through..." All the best to those who have already taken it nd those who r yet to take it cuming days.π

1) How many attempts you have made? 40-41 (18 QADI, 22-23 VALR)
2) Your last mock score? 98.55%ile (aimcat 1401)
If you are there at repository thread, please provide the link here.
3) How was your experience of the test? It was ok. Quant was easy and a 'certain question' which has been repeated in a lot of slots was the first one in my QA section. DI caselets were easy but calculative. 3-4 questions from Geometry, 3-4 from functions, and 3 from numbers as well. There were a few sitters too, distributed nicely throughout the paper. Overall sure about 13 questions here.
VALR was Moderate. 2 LR caselets were really easy while one took me some time. Solved all 9. Pretty sure of 19 questions being correct here. RC's were a bit tricky with one of them being on philosophy. Left it. VA consisted of the usual PJs, Odd one out and usage type questions.
4) What was the surprise element for you? Couldn't manage time well in QADI section. π π
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? everybody gives mocks, so nothing to add here.
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
Overall easy QA, calculative but east DI, easy LR and moderate-tough RC's. VA was moderate-tough.
7) Any other query or something you would like to share. None.

2) Your last mock score? 88%ile (aimcat 1401)
3) How was your experience of the test? It was ok. Quant was easy.I thought it would be a difficult section considering the reviews given by people about the toughness level of this section but it was moderate.anybody having good basic concepts would have been able to do atleast 20 question in QA/DI.As far as VA/LR is concerned, I would say it was on the tougher side esp because the options were very confusing.Be it RCs or PJs, options were so close that one would have to sweat it hard to answer them perfectly.3 RCs were there.one seemed to be easy but man it was not becz options were veryyyy close.others were tough i must say.Lrs were doable. This was again a suprise considering previous days' reviews about LR.
questions in QA were from geometry,numbers,functions,AP,1 question from PnC, no probability, log,T&W.geometry; had maximum no of questions but surprisingly no question from circles.all were from triangles, parallelogram, quadrilateral, pentagon, cube.
questions in VA were like: 10RCs, 9LR,3PJs,2FIBs,2Sentence completion, 1 out of context,2 one word
4) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.Overall easy QA, calculative but easY DI, easy LR and tough RC's. VA was moderate-tough.
one interesting thing to note was that there was any ques from grammar ( sentence correction , etc).......... R.I.P. NOUN, PRONOUN...........

Attempts: QA: 12 (8-9C, 3-4W) VA: 15 (Not more than 2W)
Directly comin to the business talk...QA was as said by many not less than any IIT paper
VA definitely came as a breather all LR sets solvable, but my bad luck continued and i got a set on blood relations (3Q) in which i suck BIG TIME!!π They could have given the set on any damn thing, i was prepared but NO..uff!! Other 2 LR sets (6Q) were both moderate, took their own sweet time but easily manageable, solved both (Both on selections)
For more breakup of que, you can PM me. I'll help you as per NDA limits

CAT Center: ERA Business School, Dwarka, New Delhi. Morning Slot
Though I consider myself good in QA, the paper was nothing less than a nightmare!!
Reason: Was the questions taken straight from the IIT preparatory books?? Way too tough....locus, pair of straight lines, range/domain of double modulus functions.....etc.
Was having great deal of confidence that I should be able to do atleast 20, though could do only 10 in QA/DI. DI was easy but lengthy with each question requiring calculations that can fill one full scratch sheet.
VA/RC was a breather though. 22 attempts with around 85% accuracy.
PS: 2 questions were wrong in the paper.....one about shortest distance and one about area of triangle.

1) How many attempts you have made?
QA : 18-19 VA : 21
2) Your last mock score?
SIMCAT 10 : 98.89
3) How was your experience of the test?
QA : INSANELY TOUGH π...there were 1-2 sitters but apart from that I really had to work hard to earn each correct attempt π ..DI's : 1 easy(Venn Diagram based),1 moderate(highly calculative) and 1 totally unsolvable in the stipulated time π...2-3 question high level questions from functions..one question was a combination of Quadratic and coordinate π², 2 difficult ones from Numbers, 5-6 questions from arithmetic, 1 TSD, 2 geometry, no PNC...Overall a very difficult paper from any angle...would have been really happy with 3-4 more attempts...still clueless as to how people in the same slot at my center found QA to be easy..maybe they got a different paper for it sure can't be this one
VA/LR : did not give any respite...both the PJ's had really close options...same for Para completion, all 3 RC's had 1 abstract question...in short VA for me was a disaster π...two of the LR's were easy..did not attempt the 3rd one...unattempted 3-4 questions (in which I wasn't 100% sure(all VA))in the last 10 minutes for better accuracy(still contemplating as to that was the correct decision π)
4) What was the surprise element for you?
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?
Considering the daily reviews, I will say none.
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
Overall a very difficult paper for me. Although QA was tough, I did not manage my time too well which
possibly costed me 2-3 attempts. In VA I can't say I could have done much differently. Not hoping that normalization would come to much an aid...considering the B**** it isπ.

1) How many attempts you have made - 25+25
2) Your last mock score - 120 in 1402
If you are there at repository thread, please provide the link here -
3) How was your experience of the test - Too much ennui π 2 hours wait was excruciating...... As for the paper itself - much on the same lines as the earlier slots.... moderate to difficult quant section and a tough VA-LR piece....
4) What was the surprise element for you - People are ranting about qstns being repeated over slots.... One of my LR recurred from my previous attempt.....tab nahi bana tha aaj ban gaya π
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better - Don't strain your eyes too much by staring continuously at the screen during the waiting hours
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc. - Only 1 geometry qstn for me.....quant mein algebra k jyada dikh rahe the sawal....DI was ok.....VA mein standard patterm tha....11VA + 9LR + 10RC... 2 RCs were philosophical.... Left one.... 1 LR was tough..... Usme ek answer mark karke unmark kar diya π ...... 2 out of 3 PCs were tough.... Hoping for a decent accuracy in this section...
7) Any other query or something you would like to share ..... Keep calm and believe in Normalization
CAT Center, Date and Slot: IRIS TECH PARK GURGAON, 30th October, Evening
1) How many attempts you have made? 9/10+18
2) Your last mocks? 45,65,75,85....max being 85 and minimum to poocho mat!
3) How was your experience of the test? Quant might have been easy for some geniuses but for me it was nightmare.
No numbers, No PnC, Prob, 1 TSD combo with geometry, No special equation, 1 ambiguous question on SP-CP, none of what you have practised a lot. There were progression questions (combined with LOG! fk!!!), 1 Venn as a DI question, 2 DI which i couldn't attempt because i got confused :'( i dunno if they were easy or not! There were sitters, but then maybe that is all that i did!
VA was at par with aimcats, just the RC's were better but there were summarize questions, Tone questions and 2 questions which said, what would you interview the author for! LR was moderate and could be attempted (i left 1 question as it would have taken time.), maybe 2-3 PJ with 1 easy, Fill up the last sentence were moderate-tough, FIB with words were easy.
4) What was the surprise element for you? Quant was way beyond what i had thought would be.
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? None, that nobody knows.
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc. For me Quant was tough, i wish people were as bad as me for my slot! :'(

3) How was your experience of the test?
The exam was smooth but the waiting time was huge. I almost fell asleep . The room was chilly as the ACs and the fans were on. So, take some warm clothes if you don't want to shiver.
4) What was the surprise element for you? Huge number of questions on Functions.
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? Use the highlighting feature in the RCs.
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
The Quant section was of moderate level. There were may be 1-2 sitters. No questions on PnC, probability, Functions 3-4, Geometry and Mensuration 2-3, Number System - 2, One of the DI on line graphs was tough and calculation intensive, the rest two on vein diagrams and bar charts were of moderate level.
I felt that the verbal section was easier than the quant. The breakup was 10 RC + 9 LR + 11 VA.
One of the RCs was on science and the rest were philosophical. One was tough. Rest were moderate.
Two LRs were on arrangements, One on pie chart. One LR was easy, one moderate, one tough.
There were three Para-completions, Two Sentence Corrections, Three Parajumbles, Two Sentence completion, One incorrect word.
7) Any other query or something you would like to share. None.

3) How was your experience of the test?
Glitch Free...
4) What was the surprise element for you?
One question framed in wrong way... Although the options suggested what the examiner had intended to ask... Left the question..was easy if you considered it for the intended question π
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?
Nothing...
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
QA- Moderate to tough, needed effort to reach to the correct answer... Lengthy calculations... Lots of algebra
DI - Calculation intensive but easy
VA - moderate (3 PJs, 3PCs, 1 SCs, 1 Phrasal verb, 2 FIBs)
RC - 1 easy with close options, 1 moderate, 1 tough but easy questions(Had one 'what would you ask the author' question)
LR - 2 easy, 1 moderate(could be easily solved if you have given mocks)
7) Any other query or something you would like to share.
Just keep your calm throughout the paper... For me, in SECTION-I the easier questions were towards the end... some option friendly... Don't panic in case you are not able to solve the first few questions.
Any post on this thread, not following the format OR any post trying to mislead will be deleted.
does everyone get same questions in the same slot..?
did any one find options of a graph question incorrect in quant in today's 2nd slot?

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc. well i found quant manageable however other people at my center didnt. Di had one venn dia, one line graph and one more which im unable to recall even though i attempted it π i guess my mind has stopped working now.
VA surprised me with its difficulty and the closeness of choices. 2 LR were ok. 1 took time. Did a stupid mistake in the easy LR and had to redo it, costed me a lot of my review time :'(
7) Any other query or something you would like to share. dont be too nervous. nd give ur best shot !!!
