Asked prometric to do something abt it . but they ignored my and other window candidates requests. F**k Y*U promteric for choosing this centre and shitty arrangement . you just have jeopardized my all efforts .

1) How many attempts you have made? Didn't count but i guess 20(Section 1)/23(Section 2)

2) Your last mock score? 98.5 in unproctored SIM. Have generally been on right side of 95.But you cannot compare CAT and Mocks since "CAT is a game of nerves, while mocks are test of your abilities."

3) How was your experience of the test?It was smooth. It was a long wait before the exam actually started. But apart from that,it was good.

4) What was the surprise element for you?Toughness of Quant and LR.I mean even the Quant questions which seemed to be easy, were not really easy. All topics were covered but there were lots of questions on functions and algebra and none of them was easy.A very tough 1st section-i must say.Coming to Section II,three LR Sets. All difficult,One was unattemptable in the time frame. I have never left any LR in any of the mocks. But here,I had to leave one LR set.God only knows what is going to save me in 2nd section.

5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? Nothing really.

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc. Overall a very tough CAT

7) Any other query or something you would like to share.

I just hope that God of normalization saves me.

5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? Don't worry, it is not rocket science. Its just a computer showing questions on the topics you've been preparing.

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc. Tough, less of Geometry, a few Algebra questions.

7) Any other query or something you would like to share.

The RC section was MIND BLOWING!! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Prepare well and hope for the best.

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.

Quant - the questions are like easy-moderate and some from remote areas of very familiar topics, all u need is a small brush up of those concepts. One DI set is easy, in the another one 2 can be attempted out of 3 and in the last di set 1-2 ques can be done because it was too calculation intensive.Leave the DI if it is difficult(i.e. time consuming)you can attempt 2 ques in quant for every one such ques in those DI's.

LR sets were easy to moderate.LR is entirely doable in 25-30 mins. 1 RC is easy.the rest 2 were out of the world.instead went for the verbal ques as they were easy.

7) Any other query or something you would like to share.

Calculations!

5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?

Write some mocks.. you shud get over it

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.

The first section was a moderate-tought one. 0 q's on race-time, 0 on work-time, 0 from mock TIME and In the end I was out of Time! 😠 Lots of calculations.. the ones u see genrally to powers of 7 or 8! 😠. 3 Questions were ambiguous OR i was stupid Thrice during the exam🍻. DI was doable.. If i was still in the exam hall writing the exam.

Coming to VA. LR's were immaculate so was my mind. Did some 10 iterations and guessed most of the answers. 1 set LR was easy. PJ, Errors in usage and Para Completion were all on the diffclt side. My strength was RC. There were two 4 Q's RC passages on philosophy and a 2 q's RC on happiness.. which left me quite unhappy. RC's on philosophy went hand in glove.. that i answered 2 q's from an RC based on my reading of previous RC!!!😠😠

All in all. Its πŸ‘Ό CAT 2013. Thanks a lot Puys ( Soon they will block Pagalguy.com in my office). and all the Best for all who wrote and are yet to write.

1) How many attempts you have made: 20 & 19 respectively.

2) Your last mock score?: 98.93 (AIMCAT)

If you are there at repository thread, please provide the link here.

3) How was your experience of the test? : Good

4) What was the surprise element for you? : One LR caselet was a bit tricky. In begiining, it appeared as if some conditions were missing.

5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?: Attempt any question only if u feel that you have 90% probability of getting it done within 3-4 mins. Look for the answer choices while solving a quant question. If u can put the answers to solve the problem, apply it. Never look for answer choices first while solving any verbal question. Don't take any question on your ego. If you have wasted 5 mins on a question and the answer is far, don't waste other 5 mins. Let it go. Candidates who have given a lot of mocks will understand this. Others, I believe, will understand this only after giving the exam and failing miserably in one of the sections.

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc. :

No New Topics Introduced this time.

Quant 19-20 Questions & DI 9-10 (3 Caselets).

Quant questions were basically from 2d-3d geometry, algebra, log, coordinate geometry, equations, speed/distance, allegations, find the remainder, etc. Fewer questions from number theory!

DI Caselets were basically interpretation of data (no., avg. & %) written tabular columns and one bar graph. Quite easy DI I would say in my set.

As usual Verbal Questions were appearing quite easy 7 tempting but I knew they were tricky and mostly asked from exceptions. So I avoided attempting it unnecessarily as this is my weak area. For those who are expert in this area will surely enjoy the exam. I mainly solved RCs. RC Questions: one tone question, one question: what ques you ll ask the author after reading the passage, 2 main theme questions. Few Data Base Questions directly from passage. Few What- Questions : to be answered from passage. Out of Context Questions also came this time. I attempt 2 of them. The rest same as usual: Grammar 2-3, Last Line Question 2, Para Jumble 2.

7) Any other query or something you would like to share. :

Depending upon your strength, weakness you can always decide your stategy and plan. For those who have none, you can apply this. In Quant first solve 2-3 liners or the small DI caselets. Choose first 10 questions so that you can solve them perfectly. To select these 10 questions even if u reach quesn no 30 from 1 its ok. When you solve 10 quesn correctly it will give you a moral boost. Then go for second round and if u are able to get 5-6 more, you are done. Avoid Solving Long RCs, DI/LR Caselets in last 5-10 mins of each section. Starting Part B with 1-2 passage is a good idea as u were solving quant from past 70 minutes, 2 RCs will give you 20 mins break. then immediately jump to the LRs. If u are able to select 2 easy RCs or DI/LR caselet its ok. Don't waste time if u can't solve the third caselets.

All the best πŸ˜ƒ

22-23 in quant,17-18 in verbal

2) Your last mock score?

96+ in AIMCATs

If you are there at repository thread, please provide the link here.

3) How was your experience of the test?

Horrible. Power went off twice before the exam at 10. Exam got delayed for 90 minutes. As I did not have proper breakfast,

it was not smooth.

4) What was the surprise element for you?

No surprises as such..Lots of questiong from algebra and a few from logaithms .

5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.

Quant (21 +9) was moderate. Questions were from almost all area except TSD,TW,Si/Ci.

2-3 2-3 sitters were there. Qustions from geometry(4) were moderate. questions from PnC,series, and height and distance were also doable.

easy.Spent lot of time fo algebra questions. Whole DI was easy and did not take more than 15 mins.

Section 2:Difficult(my weak area) (10RC +11 verbal +9 LR)2 LR sets were petty easy and 1 was moderate with tricky options.

Verbal section was with 3 RCs. 1 was easy- mod,1 was mod and 1 was tough. Verbal part was moderate, but still did not attempt much.

7) Any other query or something you would like to share.

Have enough food before exam. If exam gets delayed, it might trouble you.

3) How was your experience of the test?

Gave CAT for the first time(fresher). It was a nice experience.(It felt quite cold inside the test center. If anyone has Bhubaneswar as his/her center, better come with full sleeve shirts 😁 )

4) What was the surprise element for you?

The section-II was quite tough.Generally, I could solve all the LR in SIMCATs. Here I found some questions a bit difficult. Got stuck in one. 😠😠

5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?

The guys who don't give mock tests and are appearing for the first time,go through the tutorials.

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.

QA was easy(my perception). You need proper time management. Geometry still dominated the QA section. If you remember only the formulas.you can get 3-4 correct πŸ˜ƒ. there were questions from every part though-log,number,arithmetic,algebra. DI was very much solvable.

English seemed pretty tough 😟 I couldn't even attempt questions after reading the RCs 😠 Seems as if I need to prepare a lot for IIFT/XAT. LR-one was a sitter.Other two were difficult. (Manage your time)

7) Any other query or something you would like to share.

All the Best Puys. mg Sleep well before your exam. Don't drink much water before the exam mg

Questions are good and not that difficult.Manage your time πŸ˜ƒ

all the best for 2morrow🍻........phod dena exam...πŸ‘

Detailed Experience posted here:

CAT Center, Date and Slot: Kacheripady , Cochin.

1) How many attempts you have made?
Quant 20 VA 24.

2) Your last mock score?

95 in aimcat.

If you are there at repository thread, please provide the link here.

3) How was your experience of the test?

Was almost fine.. though i got the seat right underneath the AC,it was ok as i was wearing a full sleeve shirt and a jean... but the thorn in the room was a prometric staff.. he seemed like he had come to hall after quarrelling with his wife or something... he was having a go at some students for too small a thing... even threatened to take off the admit card and cancel the exam of the girl who was sitting near to me for no reason whatsoever i could see..as i left the hall,i couldnt refrain myself from talkin to that staff.. jz wanted to tell him dat he is being mean 😠..

4) What was the surprise element for you?
Tough RC.. but i kinda expected it as LRs were easy to moderate(solved LR first)...
another surprise was that i could stay calm throughout the exam🍻

5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?

Jz look at the computer more than at the beautiful girl opposite...😁

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
Exam was easier than expected for me... as all were saying that quant is pretty tough this time,i expected it to b very hard.. but it was okayish... i havent prepared that deep and still i could manage to pull off a lot of questions... if u r good with ur concepts,u can easily get to 20 questions i guess...
Quant - moderate DI - one set was tough and the other two were moderate...
Verbal - moderate..
LR - easy...
RC - 2 sets were tough and 1 was moderate...

7) Any other query or something you would like to share.

Just dont waste your time at a single question.. make sure that you read through all the questions in quant... a 2 round methodoly might work fine.. there were 4 or 5 sitters which shouldnt b missed... jz keep in ur mind that u dnt need to do all 30 questions... dont get stuck in DI... as puys here were saying that quant is very tough,my strategy was to attempt DI first and maximise my score in it.. but it certainly backfired coz 1 DI set was very tough... i spend a chunk of time on it without much of a result... could have utilised that time to write another 2 or 3 questions in quant which i felt was doable if time permitted... questions were there from set theory PnC log geometry function algebra SI/CI etc...
In VA section , LR was easy.. that obviously meant RC would b out of the worlds and it was... made some guesses in RC which i hope is correct... verbal was moderate... PJ and sentence correction was a bit on the tougher side.. para completion and FIBs were moderate...
My tip is to use a 2 round methodology for QA and to refrain from guessing in VA... jz remember that if LR is tough,RC will b on the greener side and viceversa... so dont lose hope during the test... keep in mind that there r easier questions coming up...
All the best puys🍻...

5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?

Not the right person to comment on this.

6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc.

QADI - Moderate to tough. 1 DI set was tricky...Figured out the logic after submitting Section 1 and thereby ruined my mood before starting Section-2...QA had good no. of tough questions.

VALR - One LR set was difficult (conditions were no less than a RC)....wasted 15 min. on that and still could not solve...Panicked big time and did badly in English as well....😟😟😠😠

7) Any other query or something you would like to share.

By now all of you must have come to know this....CAT 2013 is difficult.

P.S: I think my below average attempt in VA has more or less ended my dream of studying in an IIM...But still, i would like to thank every member of the Pagalguy Dream team 2013 and UDT 2013.
