4) What was the surprise element for you? the test was on par with the tougher aimcats .. atleast the quants side .. expected alot more sitters ..

on par with aimcats .. most of the models were from the aimcats .. 2 easy DIs .. one insanely tough venn diagram DI ..couldnt solve it after wasting my last fifteen mins in the first section .. looks like thatl be the diff between a 99%ile plus n >90 plus %iles....
section 2 was comparatively very easy .. 3 easy sets of lrs .. easy PJs n PCs ... few moderate grammar bits .. RCs were doable .. way easier than aimcat crap ..
overall - moderate quants .. 2 easy di .. 1 really crazy di
easy verbal n lr
1 . Section 1 : 19 Section 2 : 19
2 . Byju last three mocks (98.xx,98xx,94.xx) AIMCAT : 1401 : 86.1%ile 1402 : 96.7 %ile
3 . Overall it was not smooth at all. Could have attempted more. The paper was not that tough. Time constraint made it tough.
4 . No Geometry Ques as speculated. Loads of f(x)'s & f(y)'s :(
5 . Just one word. Time Management.
6 . A typical CAT paper. QA on higher side. DI simple. Left 1 Venn Diagram caselet (Time constraint,was doable). Another 2 was pretty simple.
LR : 2 caselets Simple & 1 was moderate(enjoyed solving this)
RCs (10 Ques) : very lengthy. Skipped 1 full RC. 😞 2 PJs, 3 Para Completion, 3 Grammer Ques. 2 Out of context.
7 . It's all about normalization now. Very difficult to predict percentiles.

Surprise element was RCs were very tough and DI and LR was very easy :)..
Overall: Quant: Tough, DI & LR : Easy.
Verbal : Moderate (RC: very tough)
Paper was moderate...quant was doable..but please make sure you manage time properly in the quant section unlike me(cud attempt only 15/30)..😠One DI was tough,one moderate and one very easy...Surprisingly no questions from geometry..Just one mensuration question...
Numbers and algebra dominated the quant section.2 questions each from Trigonometry and Logarithms.
Verbal Section was easy..RCs were very easy. Parajumbles and para completion questions were easy..Sentence correction was moderate.
LR- Three questions from LR(3*3).Could do only 2/3..they were easy-2 and moderate-1.

Very tough paper, moreover, settheory question the sets were not matching, did anyone got that was that incorrect, not much of geometry, difficult function, but centre was good, they do provide EXTRA SHEET- PENCILS,
Now my querry is the person sitting next to me discussed quant with me and his questions were easy, so the tough and easy papers will be evaluated by different parametres, as in easy paper all will be able to socre 90 plus marks while in difficult everone will be roaming around 80's, kindly comment, and can I expect any call?? feeling very unhappy..

Quant was way tougher than the CL Mock 2 easy di and 1 very hard venn diagram question.
Rc's were easy to moderate difficulty level and LR was also moderate with 2 - 3 trick questions.
Can anyone tell me how much can i expect with 80% accuracy in both the sections??

people in diff cities same slots got diff questions...so percentile will come down to normaliztion....hoping the best...:).....all the best to others 😃

CAT centre: Titiksha Public School, Rohini, Delhi.
Slot: 31st Oct morning slot
Quant: Loaded with geometry, functions and algebra. There was 1 question from profit and loss. Apart from that no questions from Number System, P&C; , Arithmetic. Only Geometry, Algebra and Functions. The paper was pretty tough, compared to cl proc mocks.
DI: 1 set was easy, the other 2 were venn diagrams. One seemed incorrect, the other one was tough as hell
Overall QA/DI: 17-20 attempts. 13-14 guaranteed right, rest calculated guesses
VA/LR: 21 attempts: One set in LR was tough and took time. One was fairly simple. The third I thought was missing some information. The questions seemed to be asking things that were not mentioned in the information
Verbal was average. Tough PCs, moderate, pjs
RC were very doable. All of them were fairly simple

Could have been better.
1) How many attempts you have made? -> QA 21 ; VA - 25. Pretty sure I have made many mistakes 😞
2) Your last mock score? -> 97.65 (AIMCAT 1401)
3) How was your experience of the test? -> Smooth, apart from the 60 minutes of boredom while waiting for the exam to start.
4) What was the surprise element for you? -> Calculation Intensive DI
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? -> Nothing here. Prometric is doing a good job.
6) Your overall analysis of the exam. Toughness, new topics, sections etc. -> The topics were well covered. 3 questions from Functions, Geometry each. One DI set was tricky. I couldn't attempt more in Quant due to bad Time Management from my side. As far as VA is concerned, I found options in RCs pretty close to each other and ended up leaving a couple of questions. LR was easy, but I got one question wrong there too. 😞
7) Any other query or something you would like to share. -> Hope you guys don't commit silly mistakes as I did. (e.g. While solving a QA que, I wrote 261/3 as 67 instead of 87 😠)
Any comments regarding the percentile I might be looking at would be very welcome.

My Centre was -SIOM, Pune :10 Am slot.
Except some brigadieresque shouting figure at the Check in/verification counter, everything else was fine.
For Quants ,😁
conventional geometry was not even there , all application based, lengthy,with a notion of "don`t dare to read me as i cover 4 full line."
Functions with their all possible tffness and BatMan Type Aura..
Co-ordinate geometry with its arrogance - you can't even try me dude " ".
Log, quadratic with its "Do me fast n move on Pal".
Numbers with its own mystery..
Ppl running round round with no aim were also their.
Some algebra based lengthy - do me at your own risk.
THough DI was Manageable.
I managed a meager 20.
In Verbal :👼
RC covered Philosophy, Modern mrktnng , and 2 more.
Lots of Para completion..i din`t count them coj of tht.
PJ were tricky ..Phrasal..FIB..Choose the odd one were also there.Though Sentenc correction was there, i had lot many other battle front seeking my attention.
LR 2 easy n one Solid " kar k dekh wala".
PAssage which CAT bring are awsm..Its all so much pleasure to read them.

Over All A CAT Like PAper..With so much for everyone.
Staying cool n fighting hard was the key. Donno how much i succeed in later..but first was always on my Radar. And It sailed my boat for full 2 hrs 30 minutes.

Quant moderate , 2 easy DI (but with tough calculations) , 3rd DI it was hell , it was smthing related to degree ( mgmt , medical and engineering ) i really spent around 15 minutes on it because it seemed that its an easy DI but in end i was pissed off.
Verbal easy ( with 3 PC's , 2PJ's and 1 out of context which seemed to b very easy)
LR , though my strength , had always got 9/9 in CL mocks , but found it very tricky and different ( floors LR and LR which had flank , and the last LR was simple )

VALR - 18 or 19

Pagalguy Mock CAT-8: 108 (96.04%ile)
Haven't written any proctored mocks this year. Scores have always ranged b/w 92%ile and 97%ile in 'Missed AIMCATs', with 84%ile on on one paper-based test.
CAT 2012: 97.37%ile (90.10 in QADI and 98.61 in VALR)
CAT 2011: 95.86%ile
3) How was your experience of the test?
QA: Well balanced paper. Questions from geometry, coordinate geometry, algebra, progressions, commercial math, TSD, logarithms, trigonometry, functions, number systems, mensuration. 2-3 sitters in QADI.
DI: 2 easy sets. 1 tough. Left it as soon as I jotted down the preliminary conditions. It was on venn diagrams. I think I could have solved it if I had 5 more minutes.
I usually suck at QADI (because of low attempts - although accuracy has always been high). Except for one DI set, I found the section moderate. Easier than some AIMCATs I've written. My focus in QADI always remains on accuracy. Expect all 19 attempts to be right. Could have attempted 2 more at least.
LR: Easy-Moderate. There might have been 9-10 questions. I could have done all but left 2 for later, but never got back to complete them because I was stumped by RCs and grammar.
VA: Tough RCs. Lots of inference questions. RCs are my strong point, but I found the questions really tricky. Otherwise, the RCs were interesting and quick reads. PJs were easy-moderate. FIB left me clueless and I marked an option in desperation. Should have left that question. Got 4 questions on last line and a couple of odd-one-out questions.
I usually score high in VALR but of the 3 CATs I've taken in this format, I think this was the toughest I've faced. My attempts have been 20-22 in past CATs with reasonable certainty of answers (18-20). I've been left in the lurch this time. I've attempted 18 and I might get 15 right.
4) What was the surprise element for you?
Pretty girls at my centre in Delhi (Trinity Institute of Professional Studies). Girl:Boy = 4:1 😲
RC Questions were tougher than what I faced in AimCATs. Very disappointing. 😠
4 questions on last line! I'd have loved 4 PJs instead!

I think I found VALR difficult. Many it seems, are finding it easy. And VALR has never been a weak section for me. ON the other hand, I found QADI very doable. Missed out on 2 more that I could have gotten right.

I'm expecting raw scores of 55+ in QADI and 40-45 in VALR. ie, a total raw score of 95+. Which is less than what I would have liked. Can anyone tell me how much I can fetch with this? 😐
