Hi ppl, this thread is created for ppl lyk me, who wish to prepare for CAT 2013... Its a discussion group solely created to discuss and maintain a proper study flow for a proper and combined preparation, so as to access ourselves and be motivated to study thorugh out the preparation time
Hi guys did u join any coaching institute..if yes,can u please suggest me a good institute for weekend batches coaching...please share ur experiences...
@Rams90 please post in Bangalore CAT 2013 Study Group for queries regarding coaching institutes... as this group is only meant for doubts and preparations as a combined group.
I think one can work on speed enhancement techniques before starting any specific section. If your calculation speed is good thn it helps in D.I and Q.A.What do u say guys?
@SAMAMITH : I suggest you do the opposite..learn up on concepts clearly. Once you are done with most of the preparation, start improving your speed. No point in having speed when you don't know the concepts itself..
@vampgm :how about doing both the things simultaneously?I will learn basics of all topics along with that i can spend some time on speed enhancement techniques so that i can use them while solving questions related to the basics.Do you think this will be good?
i agree with @vampgm concepts first n thn speed enhancement... whta we can do is complete a topic, thn wrk on shortcut techniques.... this way we can check both while we prepare
@SAMAMITH : there are always 2 approaches to preparation to any exam:
1. Work on the primary aspect - topics here. Then focusing on the secondary stuff - speed, accuracy, etc.
2. Focusing on both primary and secondary aspects simultaneously.
Remember one thing: Approaches depend purely on individuals. Those with strong grasping power can go for 2; otherwise I would advise 1. I suggest you evaluate yourself based on the below parameters.
CAT is the kind of exam that requires these things:
1. Intelligence/IQ: no matter how much you try, some people WILL be ahead of you, all other parameters being the same.
2. Hard-work: very important, no matter how intelligent you are. Those with higher IQ will have to put in a little less effort, maybe 5% less. Its a fact.
3. Preparation: how systematic are you in studying? Priorities? Strengths and weaknesses? Working Professional? Tests, revision, etc.
4. Dedication/Interest: matters a lot. Ultimately CAT is all about dedication. Sticking to the game-plan. Not losing interest midway is the key to cracking the CAT.
Ultimately, the difference between 95+ and 85 is factor 4!
PS: Feel free to get in touch with a stupid 99.04%iler for any help you need.
@vampgm its great to hear that u got such a nice score and are thr to guide us. so wot do u say? should we all prepare a study plan together (with common interest) and start preparing? In this way we could keep a check our progress in comparison to others
@diyadutta : a group is always good to discuss..I solely missed one. You can discuss your progress and doubts, but my suggestion is to not compare progress as each individual is unique and different..
@vampgm our main intention for being in this group is sharing our knowledge and strategies and working together towards CAT-13.since its our first attempt we have lots of confusion regarding how to start with each section?what books to refer & so on..so i request all the seniors to pitch in and correct us by giving their advice:)
