GE1 : How to reduce the rate of inflation. GE2 : Which is the bigger threat to India, economic crisis or terrorism. PI was weird. Got over in 5-6mins. They asked a few questions about social networks, my hobbies and then an extempore. That's it. Didn't get a good feeling cause 34 marks are awarded for the PI and don't think they got to know me well within the short interview.
GD1 : Marketing strategies for a company to open in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai GD2 : How to better the standard of living in India PI was okay till they started questioning me on reading(had mentioned it in hobbies). Asked me about booker prize winners etc. Lots of HR type questions were also asked.
Both SIBM and SCMHRD weren't satisfactory for me but a good experience anyhow. Got to meet lots of weird characters.
We had Pratap and Hari (1st year students of SIBM, Pune) today who presented some facts and figures about the college. They also answered the queries effectively. Got a CD with 3 mock snap papers. At the end had coffee, some chit chat and then every one thanked them and left for home Some imprtant points discussed were:Placement figures(in CTC) :Min. package = 8 lacsAvrg. package = 10.26 lacsMax package(domestic) = 18.xx lacsMax. package (international) = 26.xx lacsFees for 2012-2014 batch: 10.5 lacz (including hostel and mess)No dual specialization is offered. From this year on, any number of students can select a particular specialization..... till now there used to be some limits on each case.....
Hi,
Could you please tell me whether taking exams along with preparation will help in cementing the concept or is it like first all the fundas must be learnt and then only should one plunge into the test series or other testing materials??
scmhrd admission process gonna start in an hour... in scmhrd hostel now... i will go have lunch guys... wish me all the best... n post ur gdpi dates for xlri n imt n others below... we cud all meet up...
WAT+GD topic : All those who wander aren't lost (Seriously WTF)
No one had any points. Boring and lame GD. ( Thankfully every set had the same topic and seems no group had a good discussion)
PI was really sucky. 2 people. 1 kept asking me questions on computer science. I managed to answer few of them which am almost sure were right and the sir said I was wrong and proceeded to say the answer ( which I don't think is right. Though I didn't argue).
The other guy royally screwed me by asking tons of questions about agriculture. Both of them finally asked me if I know anything at all. Bad experience.
Verdict : They must be mad to select to me.
Guys, a doubt. Suppose we think the panel is wrong, should we argue ?
My advice, if you feel ure point is rt (U must be atleast 90% sure hre at the very least ) --> STICK TO IT !! You can politely tell them ' I beg to differ' or that 'U're still in doubt about the case'..etc.. In no way would you get any brownie points by arguing with the panel or an interviewer... Nyway, don't loose hope, it could have been the same case for most guys !!
BTW: Wer u serious abt joining IIM L -ABM or IMT ? Whn's the big guns lined up ?
@seetharam7 if u were sure, den u shud have said u r fairly sure of the answer... i think the panel was just playin with u to see whether u were confident of ur answers and whether u wud stick to ur answer and sound confident... its ok anyways.. easier said than done na... :)
@seetharam7 Tough Luck bro !! ..My advice, if you feel ure point is rt (U must be atleast 90% sure hre at the very least ) --> STICK TO IT !! Big guns ?? A on 25th new IIMs on March 11th and XLRI on 20th. Currently at mumbai. NMIMS day after tomo. Tired of all the travelling. Haven't got the dates for XIMB and NITIE.
@Kevin88 I am serious about IMT. Believe me, there were people who had scored more than me in CAT at the IMT GDPI. Seems score matters really less this year.
